I'm 65 years old.I've been going there since I was a little kid playing baseball The coaches would take us to there to get custard But they would not give baseball teams discounts. So it got way too expensive to take a whole team there. We had to start going somewhere else. I live on the same street Strickland's.Haven't been There at all this year Overpriced It's too bad. You can't take a bunch of little kids there. That are on a baseball team because because they don't give discounce to Little League Baseball teams. They open a lot earlier now. And they stay open later into the year . You used to be able to tell when Winter's coming because strickland would close now they stay Till after The snow starts and you used to know When Spring was coming, because that's when they open. Ed now they opened earever. Since the old man's been gone, they've gotten greedy. Not what it used to be. That happens a lot, but parents will Start a business and make It's great then the kids come in And ruin everything that was done. Lifelong resident of the area, walking distance to Strickland's growing up and still walking distance today. I'd rather get in a car and go somewhere else. That's what greed will get you overpriced. And you lose like long customers. I would not...

2022 Update: I'm happy to report that Strickland's is back this year to being the amazing icecream we remember. Fruit chunks in fruit ice cream, nuts in nut ice cream, creamy icecream with strong flavors. Thanks Strickland's for being responsive to customer feedback and for producing such delicious frozen custard treats. I'm glad we returned this year to check it out. I changed my review to 5 stars from the 3 stars I have it last year when it was just "ok" icecream.

2021 review: We've gone to Strickland's every summer for years. Lately, the icecream doesn't seem as good as it used to be. We remember real fruit or nuts in the icecream (e.g. strawberries chunks in the strawberry, banana chunks in the banana, pecan bits in the butter pecan). There are no more extras that made it special and good. Just the basic frozen custard base flavor. It's not bad, but we're thinking of searching out other stands to see if there is better icecream out there; it's a long drive for slightly above...

My family and I absolutely love Strickland’s !!!! We go here every year. My dad used to take me here when I was young and now I take my family here to enjoy one of kind frozen deliciousness. Everyone in the area knows of this gem of a treat stop but if you’re not from the area we highly highly recommend stopping in and enjoying a delicious treat. Don’t forget to check out their calendar because there’s a couple different flavors each week or so and there’s also a regular menu to choose from. And if you’re eating if there you may just see a helicopter or a plane of some sort land or take off. Such a wonderfully delicious way to beat the heat of summer or just satisfy that sweet tooth of yours. I hope this helps...

Everyone seems to love this place, the ice cream is ok but it's really soft and melts quite quickly. I realize it's "custard" but it didnt even taste that cold. They rotate their flavors but there really aren't different options for people with dietary needs. They have a no sugar added flavor but it literally stays the same all summer. Other places change up bi-weekly and have other options for non dairy. It would also be nice to have some tables for seating...there is only a couple of benches for the crowds that you see there. It's an ok place but not my go to spot for ice cream. My opinion, there are better ice cream spots that offer more of an experience for your money.

without a doubt and by far the best frozen custard on the planet. same machines since 1936. when I am back in Akron and in season I must get a chocolate cone. “founded in 1936 by Bill and Florence Strickland. During his years as an Akron Pure Milk employee, Bill developed his own rich recipe of cream, eggs, sugar and other ingredients. With his formula perfected, Bill turned his attention to developing an ice cream machine (called a "batch freezer") that would quickly freeze the ice cream, while limiting the air whipped into the product. The result is Stricklands' award-winning ice cream, frozen custard, yogurt and sorbet. “
