Went in to China Express next door to Publix near Alachua, FL. I my many years of eating Asian take-out I have never had a worse experience. I suppose I should have been warned by the dim lights, dingy look and thin plastic cover as a secondary protection over the plexiglas order window (for a minute I thought I was in a Harlem liquor store). A polite lady took my order (small wanton soup, General Chow chicken and steamed rice) . I repeated the order three times as the plexiglas shield and cheap paint drop cloth wrap, combined with the kitchen noise, limited voice transmission. After very long wait (I sat outside on the sidewalk) - I got my order. Took it home - the wonton soup was passable (stale fried wontons) and the General Chow chicken turned out to be some chicken chunks mixed with celery and green pepper in a heavy corn starched sauce sprinkled with peanuts. ...

Read moreHad a quick order to pick up on my way home after work - Always check food before you leave :( The Beef and Broccoli was amazing, but I ordered some Miso Soup.. the soup was almost gelatinous and it tasted almost sour and was very bland..it just tasted and looked very strange and jello like. When I called to let them know, and to see if I could possibly swap it out for a different soup when i came back to work on Monday, i was told No, because nobody else had ever complained about the soup before.
