I have frequented Cilantro three times within a couple of months. The first visit was good. I order Taquitos but I could taste Cilantro on my lettuce which I like but it bites me back so I avoid it. The second visit I ordered the exact same thing but all I received was the Taquitos no tomatoes or lettuce simply because I asked for no cilantro on my lettuce. On my third visit I was determined to get it right I ordered the exact same thing. Taquitos made with corn tortillas and carnitas with creme, tomatoes, lettuce and guacamole. Side of beans and rice with chips & salsa. I asked for no cilantro the cashier said we don't put cilantro on it. Ok. Got home No creme, the Taquitos were made with flour tortillas instead of corn and they put cheese inside of the Taquitos this time which I don't like nor did I order this way. The pinto beans were salty and the rice was to fragranty. The salsa was good but it had cilantro in it which I ate anyhow since I paid for and tipped. I gave this establishment three times to get it right. I'm not saying I won't go back but it won't be for a long while before that happens. My suggestion is to dine in so if they don't get it right at least or right there and they cam fix it. Unfortunately all my orders where take out and I drove over twenty...
Read moreMy wife and I have been fans of Cilantro's for years, back when they had that tiny house in Newberry, we would make the trek there often. When we learned they opened this one in Alachua, nearly across the street from us, we were thrilled. They've been open awhile now and we've been many many times, but I had held off reviewing as I felt there was some growing pains at this new location with staff and consistency in the food preparation. There was a lot of hits and misses for quite awhile for us.
However, in the last 9 to 12 months, it seems they have gotten their groove and the food has been consistently good. The value of their prices is insane. If you get a bowl, nachos, or the carne fries (my favorite), those can easily feed three people and the price is very reasonable. One small thing, the Nate Style tacos, getting some of the consume should be a default addition. I have to ask for it each time.
The atmosphere inside is nice and I like that I can see my food being prepared with the open kitchen. I mentioned there was some hit or misses initially with the staff, but as I said, that has improved since their initial opening.
With that being said, Cilantro Tacos is by far the best Mexican...
Read moreVisited Cilantro since we were in the area and hungry for a quick lunch. Place was almost empty around 3pm on Saturday since we beat the early dinner crowd. Luckily only had 2 people in front of us before we ordered. Husband got 3 tacos with chicken and 1 shrimp taco. I got the steak quesadilla with a side of cheese fries. For drinks, 1 small fountain drink with 2 pre-packaged coconut juices. Total was about $55 with a generous tip and we decided to eat in. Food was ready in about 15 minutes and it was delightful. No fat in my steak quesadillas (which is good), my husband's tacos were fresh, and the fries had just the right amount of cheese. The facilities were clean including the restrooms and overall seemed well-kept. The only thing I would say that sort of ruined the ambiance was 1 inquiring fly that buzzed by a few times but didn't have a chance to land on any of our good food since we finished it all. Free parking lot outside has lots of spaces. There's also an outdoor eating area if you want to enjoy the blazing sun during lunch. I'd come back again ☀️ Thanks for a nice first...
