La Penca Azul — Restaurant in Alameda

Terrible experience! The big man with the glasses in that restaurant is a creepy idiot. I went to pick up my order last night. He brought out my order then put his heavy hand on my back around the shoulder blades area and upper back putting heavy pressure on my back for quite a few seconds not moving his hand at all. I felt such a heavy pressure on my back, & he started talking to pull away my attention to what he was doing to me. After I entered my car I started to feel really sick with feeling of heat on my upper back and nauseated. I had to try to recover from that myself but I still felt some pain in the upper back. He has a very bad energy. I don't know why he had to do that to a customer. One time I asked for some lemon while I was dining there, he gave me mushy rotten ones. I'm Chinese and I think he doesn't like Chinese people. He's such a bully to a woman. He should not be working there. Watch out every one. He sometimes pretend to be very nice to you. Then do the opposite things to you. I didn't feel like he was trying to be friendly at...

Went on a recommendation from my sister. They were super close, so convenience got me through the door. Did online order and picked up to go.

The good and the bad:

What they did well- refried beans are the best I ever had. Rice was good. Chips and salsa were flavorful.

What they did that wasn't the best- ordered chili relleño and there wasn't any sauce. It was half cooked bell peppers and onions coarsely chopped and put on top. There wasn't anything else with it. Just a single, very small poblano.

Ordered the Chili Colorado and the expectation from any other place is chunks of beef slow cooked all day in a red sauce and is tender and flavorful. However, this was tough and thin strips of flank steak, very chewy. No flavor and in some runny tomato sauce type thing without any flavor. Price was expensive too for what you got. Didn't seem authentic, and those are very well known and basic Mexican food item staples.

Carlos was absolutely rude and should not be a manager. He served me on a dirt napkin the first drink. I ordered a Mango Margarita. I noticed that Carlos did not even pour 2 oz of tequila in the drink. He free poured for 2 secs. I tasted it and it was watered down. I then asked him what he would reccommend and he was very short and nasty with me. Saying I dont know I like them all just pick already. I asked for him to make another one this one top shelf since it tasted watered down. Carlos then pours Luna Azul Tequila which is not Top Shelf! Carlos then shakes up the drink again without putting fresh ice in a cup. Once again its watered down. Carlos was being very rude and discriminatory towards me and I frequent this location a lot for lunch. I have never felt so disrespected and insulted in my life.

Carlos needs to be demoted and another person in place that actually cares about...
