What a wonderful meal, the place is very nicely decorated, very clean. Actually I was impressed with the overall atmosphere. They were not very busy , was only a couple people there and most of them were in the lounge, which is seperate from the dining area. So no wait, we got there about 6 30, they must be short handed as the owner was performing hostess and waitress duty. She was so very nice, polite very cheerful. We ordered one appetizer to share, cheese sticks they were made fresh. Cut cheese to length batter and fry! I was impressed!!! So very good, best I've ever had. The food came , it was mostly perfect, food was hot and so very good. Prices were not too bad. We had one problem with one one the plates. The owner/ waitress took care of the problem!! It was a wonderful dining experience I will surely go back again. I would highly recommend the Elfs Den for very good food and...
Read moreThis is by far the grossest restaurant in the entire Fairbanks area, maybe even the entire state. It's dirty, service is slow and not friendly. The good reviews are bizarre to me, those folks are living in another world. The food was inedible. We ordered burgers and fries and even the kids wouldn't eat the fries. We ordered dessert to go to eat later. It was a gross brownie with melted whipped cream. The entire place could be featured in a horror movie. It's been around a long time, and the reason why it's not packed, ever, is because long term locals avoid it. Those that don't must be friends with the owner. I've been there 4 times in 20 years. The first 3 with friends years ago to grab a drink and once to have a meal that was way overpriced. The latest time, I thought I'd give it another chance since it had been so many years, thinking, if it's still in business, maybe they got better....
Read moreWe dined on Monday night and I’m guessing they may not have expected the volume they incurred and were understaffed, which is understandable. We waited over 2 hours for our food and unfortunately, with a 1 year old in the group, we ultimately had to take half of the food to go because mom had to take fussy baby to the car while we were waiting toward the end. We were disappointed that no one offered anything for the excessive wait…maybe a free app, a round of drinks, or Mom’s plate that had to be boxed. But I do want to give props to the server and bartender. They were visibly running hard and the bartender stopped by our table several times to try and entertain our fussy young one. The effort was noticed and very appreciated. The stars are literally for those 2 gals. Thank you, ladies. We know what it’s like to run understaffed. They were rock stars even if the experience...
