Fast Eddy's Restaurant — Restaurant in Alaska

Food was excellent! The battered mushrooms are delicious and made to feed a CROWD. Both the basic burger and Mexican burger were enjoyed by my kiddos, and the teriyaki chicken sandwich satisfied the hubby. A couple negative aspects, though. 1st, the hostess that was working today at 2:00 pm, she needs a new job. I have worked in the service industry close to 30 years. You cannot treat people like 2nd class citizens, never smile, and throw menus at people. I thought at first it was just us, but I watched this girl mope around and actually spill water everywhere on one couples table and not even apologize or clean it up. She would throw menus on the tables and as she's walking away, not even looking at the customers, mumble "server will be here in a minute". I don't know who hired her, but come on! I don't know who would want someone who was so miserable working for them, especially in customer service. Next, and this probably has nothing to do with the restaurant side of this business...but as I was washing my hands in the ladies room, a lady walked out of the bathroom, paused, as if she was thinking about washing her hands, and then decided not to. Now, as I finish washing my hands, I just think to myself,"gross". However, when I walk out and round the corner, the same lady is checking people into the Motel. Handling other people's cards/cash. A lady of that age should absolutely know better. Disgusting. Do...

We were staying at the RV park next door and walked over for a late lunch early dinner. Everyone had recommended eating here and we can see why. Service was amazing. Food was amazing. Portions are huge. We ordered the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. This could've been a whole meal for two. There were at least 30 mushrooms. People were coming over to see what we were eating. We even shared a mushroom with someone who was on their way out. We had ordered shrimp baskets as our meal. The shrimp was excellence and the fries were very good. We ended up bringing most of the mushrooms back with us. In fact, we had some of the leftover mushrooms the next day with our dinner in camp. We can't wait to stop in on our way home and try something else and hopefully have room to try the Xango dessert!! UPDATE: We stopped in on our way back home and instead of pizza, we decided to get the salad bar. We did the one time salad bar and that was enough food for us. We were saving room for the Xango!!! Fast eddys is a busy place. When you are traveling, that can be a good thing. Most people would rather eat somewhere that does a good deal of business as it shows the food is more than likely good. In this case , even the locals eat here which is a plus in itself. Of course I had their steak dinner with all the fixings. It was cooked as I had ordered it, medium rare, with baked potato and slaw. The help was friendly and prompt, with a little humor to go with the conversation. Always a plus for keeping a good attitude. I believe my friend ordered the salad bar along with his meal so he could have some greens with his meal. This would be the second time I have eaten here . So yes , I was a return customer and glad I did. We still had a few thousand miles to go before making it back to Oklahoma, where the cattle are just part of the scenery and a good steak is always fresh and juicy.
