Went there for a special occasion. I stayed at pikes waterfront lodge before and the breakfast food was amazing, so I figured I’ll try the restaurant at pikes landing. I ordered the prawn and scallop fettuccine. Well, when the food arrived, the prawns were those small, Walmart style, cocktail shrimp. I told the server that I didn’t order a 30 something dollar dish marketed as prawns only to get baby cocktail shrimp. So she went to her manager and came back saying that the manager told her to take the plate away. I said o, I’m eating it, since she didn’t offer to get a replacement plate.
So after we were done, I asked to speak to the manager expecting an explanation and maybe do a price adjustment as any decent restaurant would do. The manager said that she asked the waitress to take the plate and offer something else, which wasn’t relayed to us, of which I told her, and I told her that the baby cocktail shrimp are not prawns. Her answer was that the cook is presenting it as such and she offered nothing to make it up.
Also we ordered that giant berry alcoholic drink which wasn’t cheap, but when we saw the size , I thought well, maybe it’s worth it. Upon trying it, it didn’t taste like any alcohol, it’s filled almost 3/4 ice, and the mixed berries that’s in it tasted almost rancid, not as the waitress said that they’ll taste alcoholic.
While leaving, I was talking to the waitress and the hostess was on the rude side as if she was pushing us to stop talking to the waitress and just leave.
The waitress was nice but she looked overwhelmed and we had to all several times to get what we need.
Also i ordered the all Alaska crab stuffed mushrooms but there is barely a taste of crab in them.
Long story short, disappointed in the quality and price of food. I would never step foot in that place again and I hope people would think twice before ordering food and know what to expect. Photo is for the drink that I mentioned and you can see all the ice instead...
Read moreWe arrived at this resturaunt and stood in the doorway because all the tables were full. The back area was closed so we (two of us) just stood and waited. The female manager ended up moving her phone and drink off a table so we could finally sit down. I wanted to leave, but unfortuately she freed up a table. Approximately 10 minutes later, three other people came in and the manager ran right up to them and brought them to the closed section to be seated (not sure why we weren’t even acknowledged while standing there waiting, but the closed section wasn’t even an option for us.) Now the food….. This was the worst food ive eaten in my life, no exaggeration. I got the tenderloin tips in a white wine sauce, which was cheap meat boiled in Parsley. This was not sauteed tenderloins, this was a boiled (in water and parsley) cheap meat. There is nothing I can compare it to. Frozen Steak-ummms wouldv’e been a delicacy, this was just bad. My friend got the Tower of Power, the same meat that I had but with seseme seeds, she said the stuffed mushrooms were ok and the prawns were bland and mostlybreading. For two of us, the bill was $97.00 and the food wasn’t edible. The waiter asked if we wanted boxes because the food wasn’t touched, we told him how bad it was and he put the credit card machine down at the table and went to the bar and got the receipt to show the charges, which wasn’t disputed. I absolutely recommend going elsewhere (McDonalds would’ve been a prime choice.) I am not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination, but any chef would know not to boil meat and definitley don’t boil...
Read moreThe environment of pikes landing restaurant is inviting and comfortable. During my last visit the servers were running around busy, but some of the servers seemed spacy or unclear of what was going on. I asked where we can sit and one server said u can sit anywhere in the dinning area or bar. I am a booth type person and have specific needs for where I can sit. I found a nice booth with the my back to the wall like I always do and was getting comfortable and was approached by a server and said we are not using this part of the dining area today. Strike one. My wife and I reviewed the menu and decided on what we wanted and waited nearly twenty minutes to place out order. We ordered a beef tips appetizer and burger along with beverages. 25 minutes later we received our drinks and seeing things were going to take a little while my wife ordered another Budweiser in the bottle. Roughly 45 minutes after ordering we received our appetizer and meal at the same time. Beef tips we're good and would recommend to anyone. Burgers are nothing to get excited about, but onion rings were pretty good. When we were done eating my wife's Budweiser ordered after getting our drinks was delivered. We almost forgot about it all together. So we asked for the ticket my wife drank her beer and 20 minutes later we received our ticket.
All in all food wasn't bad atmosphere along the chena river is nice. Service on the other hand was slow...
