This is a very strict Ayurvedic restaurant. So strict, I was told by an employee (after I asked for ice water) that they “didn’t have ice” & could be fired for putting ice in water because it doesn’t follow Ayurvedic principles. Sometimes, people want a vegetarian meal, but don’t follow Ayurveda. Maybe explain to them the ice situation, but give them the option of still having it in their water if they ask for it. I’m saying this because the time before I was told by another employee upon ordering that you all didn’t have ice (but not told why), but it miraculously appeared in my water when brought to my table. Last time, I was downright refused ice.
Also, I ordered veg # 2 today which was advertised as having black eyed peas (the main reason I ordered the dish) and turnips. It had neither, yet I wasn’t told upon ordering/paying that it had chickpeas instead. If you advertise the veg of the day dish as having specific vegetables, then you should serve those vegetables or let the customer know it’s not as described BEFORE they pay. To make it worse, they charge extra if you want rice. Rice should always...
Read moreThe staff was great n friendly. Me and my daughter were passing through to Denver and needed to eat. We are both vegan. My daughter picked while I was driving. She said the menu looked good she didn't read reviews. The restaurant was clean/good the atmosphere was nice but the food was quite expensive. Me and my daughter were eh ok with our food choices we were not thrilled. It was ok/good but nothing to rave about. Or to recommend. We ordered a piece of the coconut pie. and ginger cookie to go. The pie was fair but not what we expected. A bit on the dry side...the coconut flavor was ok but for $5 a tiny slice...?? Call me crazy but that's one very expensive piece of pie!.. The ginger cookie Was $5 also BUT COME ON $5 for ONE COOKIE !! I was expecting this to be tge bomb. I make my own cookies n snickers bars etc. And those are to die for...BUT FOR 1 COOKIE ??!! .. it looked so good !! ..NO NO NO !! save your MONEY....OMG IT WAS SO HORRIBLE !! ..It was SO dry that when we took a bite it fell apart into saw dust and it tasted like sawdust too... And you needed a lot of water desperately to wash it down...
Read moreKind of a tough one to review. The atmosphere was great. The staff were amazing. The food...was awful. My family of 4 tried pancakes, the ABLT wrap, a veggie burger, pecan pie, chocolate covered bundt cake and English breakfast tea. The only decent thing was the pecan pie. The rest we couldn’t really even stomach. I had this place recommended to us by the owner of another vegan place here in ABQ that I love, so I was a bit disappointed by the food. If I lived here and wasn’t just visiting, I would be willing to give it another shot and order other food because of the staff and atmosphere being so good. I don’t know if the chef was having a bad day or if we just happened to order some of the least good foods or what happened. Edit: I also lived in England for 4 years (just left there this month actually) and the tea was not good at all compared to the real deal. I tried a lot of make it better, but just couldn’t...
