Unfortunately, the only good things I can say about this place is that the service was good and very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, the prices for the food were reasonable (the same can't be said for the drinks), we didn't have to wait long before the food was served, and the portions were big enough. That may seem like a lot of good things, but they were outweighed by the taste, or rather, the tastelessness of the food. It not only was not even the slightest bit spicy, but it tasted and looked like it was completely unseasoned . We couldn't taste any of the traditional seasonings you expect in Mexican food (cumin, garlic, cilantro, etc.) or any other seasoning of any kind. We had to add salt and grab a bottle of hotsauce, but of course, those alone couldn't salvage the food. We finished the meal because it wasn't that the food tasted bad, it just didn't really taste like anything at all. The "salsa" literally tasted and looked like marinara. Then there were tye drinks: my wife ordered a "jumbo" sized "house special" Margherita for $13. The regular size was three dollars cheaper. However, the "jumbo" sized Margherita was an average size, if not a little smaller than average. The taste of the Margherita was good, but...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. Our first time here. We came in to a nearly empty restaurant with only three other tables occupied. After we were seated we sat for about 5 minutes and someone came and took our drink order. Shortly after they brought out chips and salsa. We starting eating the chips and it took 5 more minutes to get our drinks (2 of us). I started to give my food order and she said hold on. She then went back to the kitchen and stayed several minutes. When she came back out she went straight to the table behind us (they already had their food) and spoke in Spanish for a few minutes (the table had 4 people who all spoke Spanish) she then turned around and went back to the kitchen. I wait for 6 minutes, I’m timing it exactly at this point. We had been in the nearly empty restuarant for 15-20 minutes and still not had our order taken. There was two more servers there as well. I got up to walk out as she was coming out of the kitchen. I said we are leaving because we got no service. She looked right past me and said something in Spanish to the other table who also had a Spanish speaking person sitting there. I will never be back. I’ve never been treated this way in a...
Read moreI would definitely not recommend this place. We came in with a party of 5 and a teen in a wheelchair. When we arrived the hostess led us about 20 feet into the dinning area, then she pointed to a table on the other side of the room, about 30 feet away and said "there's your table" and then walked away. When we went to our table there was 1 menu for 5 of us. When our waitress came, she took our drink order and we asked for more menus. We still only got a total of 4 for the 5 of us. The whole time, the teen in a wheelchair was looked over like he didn't exist, or was some kind of inconvenience to them. When we got our drinks we were left with no straws. After 5 minutes or so, we finally saw someone and were able to ask for straws. I specifically asked for corn tortillas with my meal, but got flour. Overall we felt like they didn't want to deal with customers or us being there.
Dear El Sazon, train your staff how to give proper customer service. We are, by far, extremely easy to please, but there's no excuse for lazyness. If you don't want customers, just close your doors. There are other choices around with better service. The food itself was really good and the only reason we gave a 2...
