Delicious food!!! upon arrival we were greeted by three different people who didn't communicate about us. They really need a host with stand who might need to be outside since it's pretty tight as soon as you walk in. On the bright side we were seated promptly. Your server might not try to upsell you. In a way it’s good but I suggest you try to go in for a 4 course meal. (Jk, they don’t have salads, only a cheesecake for dessert, and appetizers are your oven baked chips with delish salsa 🔥) The coffee at noon isn’t fresh, and I understand many don’t ask for coffee at such a time. Thus make the coffee by cup 8-12 oz at least. suggestion; Use the kcup black silk for coffee lovers and let your customers know it’s roast level. The small cup of aguas is definitely for kids; stick to the large for all adults.
Use the restroom before you arrive. Single seat for both male and women. No baby changing station! When we arrived there were two other parties that I remember having babies. As we were leaving another family with a baby was coming. Hopefully they will also put a station in the mens restroom( they too can change a diaper). On the bright side, they have a full body mirror in front of the restrooms.
No split checks?! Be prepared to buy for your whole party, and have money transferred.
It looks like it’s a newly opened restaurant so the music comes from a speaker in the corner. Personally; having two speakers opposite of each other at a lower volume is best (that way people can still hear each other)
Kareoke! I didn’t really pay attention to this but I’m sure Saturday nights get fun.
Pricing is reasonable. delish food. our compliments to the chef, we will be back...
Read moreSo we wanted to try this after watching a review on Instagram. We were not disappointed. First, the service was awesome and us, being the only white people who can't speak Spanish, had a very patient waitress who definitely got our order correct, and checked on us several times, excellent service, not only that but I believe it was the owner/manager, Javier, also came to check on our table, friendly guy. They had a live singer, and he was entertaining. Now the food. The chips and salsa was served. The chips were a little stale but the red sauce was a smoky flavored hot sauce that was fabulous as well as their green salsa brought to the table. That said, l still enjoyed eating them.I don't know enough spanish to request fresher chips but it's OK. The horchata was on point and not too sweet. I had the parradilla 2, with shrimp, fajita and chicken. Oh my God it was flavorful, and tender and perfect amount of onions and bell peppers. We didn't have enough tortillas to use and had to order more it was so plentiful. Also, their guacamole was so fresh, creamy and delicious. My husband had the barbacoa and consomme. We love barbacoa, and although it was tender, and tasty, we think it was missing something, let's just say we have another place in the heights that still can't be beat, but we would definitely order it again. The consomme was good as well, just needed a little more salt. Our overall experience was that it was a great choice and we will be back. I want to try the lamb and machete, and other items on the menu as it looks so good it is hard to decide what is next. Thank you Javier, for coming to our table, and for talking to us outside. God bless you with...
Read moreFirst time trying this place after seeing it online and hearing some recommendations about it.
I was actually looking forward to trying it and pretty excited to have found a place that does barbacoa estilo hidalgo.
The food was okay, I would even go as far as saying it’s a tad above average but not necessarily extremely good.
The horrible surprise came when I ordered my food to go and ordered a kids fajita taco plate and the tortillas came with mold. I called the place to clarify this and was rudely told that it was blue masa as they also prepare blue corn tortillas, I do see a spot that has blue masa but the other thing is mold, can’t quite capture the picture but it had the texture and hair bits that mold has.
As someone with experience in dealing with fresh made tortillas, I understand how they can easily get moldy in a humid environment.
I wasn’t looking for anything other than an explanation and perhaps an apology but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
Not sure if I will go back to this place as this has left a horrible first impression and I definitely won’t recommend it to anyone, it’s busy enough that perhaps they don’t need my recommendation but I definitely am someone who spends a bit of money in food I enjoy, and they have for now lost a customer. I will however ask people to beware of your food and encourage you to check it before you leave.
I think they have a long way to go in the customer service department, would rate zero stars if possible because I believe the way you treat your customers speaks volumes on the kind of people that are tending to...
