TURN AROUND PLEASE! I would give zero stars if I could. I came here after family swore by the ‘great, authentic’ Peruvian food. I came to find a disgrace. I ignored the negative reviews on here and decided to come in for myself. Upon entering, that foul smell that everyone smells, was very much present. The stench of smoke was impossible to ignore yet I continued on to take a seat. I ordered two seafood plates (tallarines con marisco and jalea), one papa rellena (stuffed potato) and one quarter chicken. Both seafood plates had a very bad, rancid smell to them, like if the seafood had been stored for a while in a freezer. The stuffed potato was super greasy, undercooked, with a little bit of meat inside. The chicken was super tiny and dry. We also got chicha morada (traditional Peruvian drink) thinking we were gonna get homemade stuff but instead got an imported liter bottle. All this came out to be about $50. I wouldn’t mind paying if the food was worth it but honestly it is not. Go somewhere else, please! This is not authentic...
Read moreThis spot is interesting, especially for the area its in. I tried the Papa a la Huancaina, mixed ceviche, and Salchipapa for appetizers. The papa was pretty good, it was different. The mixed ceviche was very fresh and tasty. The salchipapa I did not like it was french fries with what tasted like a cheap hot dog cut over it . It looked like they slapped the dish together for some child. It really doesn't fit their menu and should get rid of it or alter it. For entrees I tried the Aji de Gallina and Cau Cau. The aji sauce on the chicken was probably a little richer than it should have been and the tripe in the Cau Cau was pretty tasty and well seasoned. For dessert we got a flan that had a different name but tasted like normal subpar flan. There was also a cookie-like dessert with powdered sugar on top and that one was pretty tasty albeit slightly overpriced. I would come back here another time or 2 but probably not...
Read moreTHE FOOD WAS AMAZING. The portions were good enough for 2 people and very flavorful. The ceviche was so good and fresh, it was only second to the ceviche I had in Rocky Point, Mexico. We had the Jalea and, although it was disappointed at first because it was all fried seafood, the presentation and the flavor was more than enough to make me forget my disappointment. The left over juice from the ceviche combined with the Jalea, simply delicious. I also ordered white rice...it was a bit pricey but also delicious for being just white rice. The only negative was the service. The server was on her cell phone or distracted by it regularly. Our friends had the Tallarín Salteado de Mariscos and Huancaina....they also...
