Booked my son’s 10th birthday party here over a month ago and put down 4 times the required deposit. Went by yesterday( the party was today) to ask a couple more questions, look over the space again. When we arrived today at the appointed time, we began to set up. The manager, who I had spoken with when I booked the space a month ago and yesterday asked me if I had the space reserved. I asked him if he didn’t recall talking to me yesterday (it was strange. I asked him when we would receive our wristbands and play cards. He told me that I needed to return downstairs to prepay the balance of the party before I could receive anything. This was a personal first for me as I am used to paying at the end of my children’s parties, but I obliged. However, this did mean that we had lost 10 minutes of party time as this policy is not stated anywhere on the party flyer, and we had not been greeted or assisted upon entering the venue! One of the wrist band was stuck, and when I went to retrieve another one, they tried to rip open! I had to insist that they give me a new one as that would not wrap around anyone’s wrist. Booking the ultimate party package did not give my guests any allowances. For example, we had booked a party package for two hours of unlimited everything in the venue. But my guest still had to wait in line to ride the go karts, which at sometimes was over 10 minutes for a 5 minute ride and then get back in line another 10 or more minutes or more to ride again. This meant that they really did not have an unlimited party, as the party was only set for 2 hours. So that the children could actually play 1 game of laser tag we had to add another hour to the party at a cost of an additional 200$. Not once in the 3 hours we were there did ANY of the staff check on us! In fact when I had to go down the steep stairs for play cards not working, etc. the staff was RUDE and unfriendly! In fact, when we decided to add the extra hour, at my mother’s insistence, the staff needed to check her identification. Well, they did not do that for the previous 450$ I had already spent, but now the girl behind the counter needed to “verify”. I walked up the steep stairs to retrieve her identification. When I came back down the stairs again. I had to ask how the extension worked. She said that she would update the play cards and wristbands. After several minutes, this has not been done. Bear in mind I was paying for additional time, and was not able to use it! This is in addition to the space not being cleaned prior to our party. There were pieces of bread on tables and window seals, food in the floor, and full toed up trash cans left in the cans when we arrived. We had to put food on separate walls because the plugs were broken in the space. Overall, this was the worst experience I have had hosting one of my children’s parties! I do not recommend this place, nor would I ever...
Read moreI have always passed by Go Kart Raceway for well over 10yrs now and for the first time, I stopped by with my 2 kiddos (7&2) last Tuesday, June 14th. My older one wanted to try driving a go kart, unfortunately he was still 4 inches too short for the solo. Even when we didn't purchase anything but was in and out in less than 10minutes, we were treated very kindly and the attendant who greeted us didn't just pointed us to the direction of the counter but accompanied us and helped us.
Even though this place is a good 30min highway drive from home, I wanted to go back to fulfill my promise with my son. I asked my mother-in-law if she could join us and she did. The four of us came back Thursday, June 16th.
All I can say is that I could not ask for a nice family place. Yes, the sun was scorching hot but the go karts were fun and very reasonable. The attendants outside were nice and safety oriented. They were also very courteous and helpful. The only thing I find fault with is the heat... but it is Houston in the middle of summer.
Inside, there was a good variety of arcade games. Things were also nice, bright and clean. You can also see attendants actively sweeping and cleaning discreetly.
We had a little incident where another gokart ran into my son and I at full speed. It was driven by an 11yo who was driving one for the first time. The kid, her mom and their chaperone were very apologetic and nice. Management was also very sympathetic and helpful.
I can honestly say they went the extra mile to make sure we were OK and even accommodated us in changing out tickets to arcade game instead since my son was a little shaken from the collision.
In all, I would come back in a heartbeat... but maybe not in the middle of the day but maybe around evening or during fall/winter. I would also recommend to my friends who enjoy go...
Read moreIt was fun at first. Then, the rain came and we didn’t check weather, nor did we read a sign that said no refunds due to incline to weather. I also had $40.00 cash that I had to give to someone that needed it, problem is it fell out of my pocket, along with my phone and air pods. Phone was at the front, and AirPods stayed in the cart, my $40 that was all together in my pocket along with formerly mentioned items, was missing. I’ll never know what exactly happened to that cash, but I wanted to at least get $40.00 worth of my “Kart” tickets back in cash. They were very stern on not helping me out with that, and I don’t like that rule. If they’re so adamant about it, They should at least verbally advise others, “…no refunds due to inclement weather… the weather app show it’s gonna rain soon you should consider this but buy tickets at your own risk...” or just not sell the tickets cause no one wants to have money gouged from them like that. I just wanted my family to have fun on go karts. I went to play laser tag later we were told it was a free for all, and there was a team of kids against me and my wife, the kids were super happy to kick my butt. But that’s about the only happiness I could offer, and my poor daughter was waiting for her turn to get on. Just heed my warning and...
