We really wanted to like this place and be a neighborhood "go-to" spot but were disappointed.
Our experience: We waited almost 20 minutes before our server was told that our table was in his section. Our server didn't look like it was a job he wanted. Maybe it was a long day but just wasn't overly friendly. It feels like it could be a fun place to watch sporting events but this is really all we got out of it.
Our meal: The burgers were ok. For a place that has "burgers" in its name, our family expected more. The burger that I ordered was a little undercooked and well...bland. There was no taste to it and a frankly felt like I was eating mostly bread. The vegetables didn't really add much and felt like they were just thrown on to fill it up. The onions and such should add to the flavor of the burger but even they didn't add much to the overall taste. My son ordered a double patty burger and a side of mac and cheese. Both he said were ok and he's usually an eating machine. The fries were too salty and were rubbery b/c they were undercooked. They did get the Sprite drink mix correct. It wasn't watered down. Also, my daughter liked the Caesar salad.
Overall, the burgers felt like a bad attempt at what could have been a tasty burger. Instead, it was a dull, lifeless, meal that lacked character.
To summarize: • Burgers – bland, tasteless • Fries – salty, undercooked • Atmosphere – Ok if you want to watch sporting events • Cleanliness – the tables and floors need to be cleaned better • Price – a bit pricey for what you get
If you're looking for some local spots for a good burger, try these places: • Dutch's near TCU • Charlie's Hamburgers (off Granbury Rd.) • Gustos off Magnolia Ave. • Tommy's Burgers (Forest Park location)
Sadly, we won't be going back to...
Read moreFirst time visiting this location. Arrived just before 5pm on a Saturday...not quite busy yet. Service was extremely slow...hardly saw our server...took almost 10+ minutes just to get an appetizer of chips and queso. They had runners bring our food out, which wasn't entirely correct...asked for poppy-seed buns...received plain white buns, that were cold...making our burgers not as hot/warm as they should've been. My youngest son's chicken tenders arrived 5+ minutes after everyone else's and was scorching hot! So, he had to wait for them to cool off to eat. One of my other kids didn't like his burger, we were going to order him chicken tenders instead, but since we never saw our server, we figured it would take too long. We saw what we thought was the manager (wearing a black polo vs a black tshirt), whom wasn't assisting others nor visiting tables to see how they're food/service was. The restaurant seemed poorly run altogether. Our server seemed to be juggling too many tables all across the restaurant, too...no real system in place...she should've had a set section of 3-4 tables, especially on a Saturday evening (Valentine's weekend, too). Our concerns were finally expressed to our server, and she gladly comped 75% of our meal, however that's not why we were telling her these things. We were not expecting to get anything comped or for free. That was extremely nice of her to do that, but unnecessary imo. We will definitely not be back...unless things change. Not a very good first impression. My family is in the restaurant industry and this would not fly...at all. I hope something changes...for other...
Read moreIt's astonishing the deer-in-the-headlights look you get from these employees. The service is so painfully slow. This restaurant has 100 TVs with football helmets and sports memorabilia strewen everywhere as decoration. If I make the horrible mistake of asking "do you have the MLB game on or the TCU game on?" the employee looks at you like you just asked for the reel highlights of a 1972 Scandinavian pole vaulting competition. I had not one, not two, but three employees look at me as if they've never heard of MLB or TCU in their lives. They look like they didn't have any idea what planet they were on. "Uhhhh I dunno... uhhh what game? Uhhh what channel is it on?" LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING? After about a half an hour they said that they didn't get the channels. What? Your cups even have GAME DAY on them. And before the manager starts slamming away at a reply, if the store doesn't want to pay for " super expensive channels", then don't advertise yourself as a "Game Day" sports restaurant. I've tried this place 3 times. They never have some of the most basic games...
