Bangkok Thai was the absolute WORST restaurant (not only Thai) food that I've ever been to, not only the food but especially the service by the owner and waitress. First, it took 30 minutes to get waited on, and there were only 2 people in the restaurant. Second, I told the waitress up front that my son was allergic to nuts and fish. I asked her if any of the food we ordered (Chicken Pad Thai or Sweet and Sour Chicken) had any of these ingredients, and she said no. We told her we had a Groupon, and she said we could use it as long as we ordered off the dinner menu.. Well my son began by eating some of the sweet n sour chicken, which had almost no chicken at all. Maybe about 6 pieces of small inch sized chicken for a $10 entree...very very sparse. You get far more at other Thai and Chinese restaurants for less money. Then the Chicken Pad Thai arrived. I am lucky that I took a bite first. It reeked of a strong fish smell but I took a bite to make sure . There was definitely fish in it. I got the waitresses attention, who in a very grumpy manner came to our table. I asked her why she told me there was no fish when there was clearly fish. I told her my son could have gotten very sick or died if he ate it. She walked away very rudely and came back 5 minutes later. She then said it has fish sauce made from fish. I told her that they need to remake this dish or give us another dish with no fish. She then went back to the owner and they said they would refuse to remake the dish unless I paid for another entree. I was completely disgusted. Well these cheapos not only lost a great customer who eats out 2-3X a week both on business and with family, but I will make sure that I tell every website and friend I know to never visit this low class establishment again. I do feel that they would have treated me the same regardless of whether I had a coupon or not. And that shouldn't matter either way. To make a potentially life threatening mistake that could have killed my son, and not to apologize or make it right by giving us another dish and expecting us to pay for their mistake is...
Read moreWhen my hubby and I moved to the area a year ago, we knew we would miss our old Thai/Sushi Restaurant in Chicago, but that's no longer an issue. Last night we popped into Bangkok after work, and we were absolutely delighted from the moment we walked in. The open layout and very tasteful decor reflect the owner's desire to please. Our server Tony, who seemed to be wearing a lot of hats, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the ingredients, and helped me make an excellent choice for my entree. We shared the Sashimi Deluxe which was excellent, as were the different sauces that came with it. The only fish on the platter we didn't care for was the red snapper. You cant go wrong with their Chicken Satay, but we thought their Summer Rolls (otherwise known to us as spring rolls) were a bit sticky. Next time we will probably order their Spring Rolls which they actually deep fry. My husband loved his Pad Thai with chicken, which is what I always used to order also, but everything on the menu sounded so delectable that I had a difficult time deciding. I finally settled on the Raman Noodles with beef (nothing at all like the 10 cent packages at Jewel LOL). It was outstanding, and I'm afraid I will never be able to try another thing on the menu because I will want it every time! We are so happy to have found this place, and hope it will be around as long as we are! And we will definitely be telling our baby boomer friends...
Read moreI ordered two servings of gyoza and one fried rice in uber eats. The food was done excellently and quickly, the restaurant did an amazing job. The rider unfortunately decided to sit in one spot for over thirty minutes (after the food was done). The restaurant worker himself called me and told me that it didn’t arrive, the food was done, etc. That was very nice of him since something similar happened before with another place and I didn’t get help at all. So, we decided that it would be best if I just went there myself to get it and I did. Very nice interior, and extremely friendly staff. All of the workers helped me out, and the main gentleman stayed with me to talk about the order. The app wouldn’t let me cancel it, so he told me to enjoy my food and called uber himself to resolve it. Not to mention, he also reheated the food so that it wouldn’t get cold. Not even including the fantastic staff, the food itself is delicious and extremely underrated in my opinion. The sushi is good, the gyoza is possibly the best I’ve ever had, and the rice is great. If I could give this place more than five stars I would. I highly recommend, because you will not be disappointed. And even if you are, the staff is an amazing set of people who try their hardest and will...
