Shame on me for not having reviewed this glorious pizza pie shop, located on the SE corner of the intersection of Hanson and Algonquin roads in Algonquin, IL.
Today is the day I right that wrong because I have to sing the praise of Patrick the manager on duty who fielded my first complaint after 7 years of consistently reliable pizza, but earlier this week I had broken my 9th rib on anterior left stack, and that was actually on Thursday but I was in Wisconsin at a cabin in the damn woods and it would have been a "bit of a hassle" to squeeze me into the doctors in time...turns out it really wouldn't have mattered much because, well, for a busted rib you....do nothing except, like my family said, grin and bear it.
Not remotely my style, so I look to some extreme comfort food...a pizza with, mushrooms, garlic, extra sauce, pepperoni on top, and the key to unlocking this combo, asking for the top well done, or extra crispy pepperoni.
So anyways these heroic and saucy doughmen, heretofore known to me and mine as the Pizza Masters of Falcon Ridge, bowled me over with their generousity and, more importantly in my book, an earnest desire to do the "right" thing in respect to their customers, or more importantly me, tee hee.
To Patrick, Patrick, and that guy who swung by first, thank you from the bottom of my very satiated belly.

Read moreI had high hopes for this pizza after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. My biggest disappointment was the use of canned mushrooms—arguably one of the worst choices you can make for a pizza. Fresh, quality ingredients are essential for good pizza, and this detail made a noticeable difference.
The sausage also missed the mark, with an overpowering fennel flavor that overwhelmed the rest of the toppings. To make matters worse, the crust was a bit too thick, resulting in a dry and unappealing texture. On a slightly brighter note, the pepperoni pizza fared better than the sausage and mushroom option, but overall, I was left underwhelmed.
Another downside was the price. A large two-topping pizza and a medium one-topping pizza totaled $63 with delivery—and that didn’t even include the tip. While I understand that inflation has impacted prices everywhere, for pizza of this quality, I would have expected to pay at least $20 less.
I wouldn’t completely write off this place, as some menu items might fare better (like the pepperoni), but I’d recommend avoiding any pizzas with vegetable toppings. For now, it feels like you’re paying premium prices for a product that doesn’t quite live up...
Read moreMy family has been ordering from Sal's Pizza for many years. The pizza is always EXCELLENT and of the highest quality. One day I had a taste for something a little different and I dared to try tried the ribs. I love ribs, I admit it. I was a little nervous about it as pizza places typically aren't always the best place to get a nice slab of ribs. Well, to my complete delight, the first time I ordered them they were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! They were tender and moist and the homemade rib sauce is a culinary work of art. They serve it up in a foil pan hot from the oven with BBQ sauce slathered all over the ribs and beautifully caramelized around the edges. You know, the really dark gooey stuff that is perfect to mop up with piping hot french fries. I order the ribs now more than I do the pizza. I've ordered them at all different times, even when they are slammed busy, and I must say they are CONSISTENTLY FABULOUS!!! They are also very nice people to do business with. They are polite, friendly and accurate with orders. My sincere compliments to Sal the owner, Patrick, the manager, and...
