I definitely recommend.
Scortched Earth offers something for everyone. They continue to show love to all styles of beer.
They constantly use locally grown fruits to create exotic variants of many of their core staples. They offer a constantly changing Sour and Barrel aged line that will keep you coming back to try what's new.
While their core staples are really good, their small batch taproom only exclusives are hidden gems that are creative and packed with flavor.
I do have to give a shout out to their Octoberfest. It's one of the best brewery variations I have ever had. A perfect balance with the right amount of Carmel notes.
as of 2020, here is my list of favorites
blood orange Hickster variant: blood orange infused Cream Ale
Passion Angle: passion fruit and hibiscus infused Belgian Ale
Crypt Keeper: imperial pumpkin Porter
Octoberfest
Flipmode: New England IPA
Agent GoldBrew on Nitro: golden nitro milk stout (where your eyes deceive your taste buds)
Schwarzbier: German style dark Lager
Sodfather: American pale Lager
Now, I'm not a big fan of Sour or Barrel Age, but I have heard great things from people who enjoy those styles.
Scortched Earth is constantly innovating and trying new things. Their staff is friendly and for being such a small brewery they are pushing out some awesome stuff.
being that it's a Veteran owned business is another added...
Read moreScorched Earth used to okay. Their location is not ideal, but they do have some very good beers. The bar layout is awkward and their customer service is terrible. The staff is rude and unfriendly. I made my final visit to their establishment Friday. It was a horrible experience. On Saturday, this brewery participated in The Great Oudoors Beer Trail for the McHenry County Conservation. The event started at 1:00 and went until 5:00. Scorched Earth was out of beer at 2:30. I am done with Scorched Earth. Too bad this place has failed at being a go to local brewery. If you are looking for a fun, friendly brewery experience, check out the Cary Brewery or the McHenry Brewery. These both have very good beers and they are way better at...
Read moreOn a Saturday night, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Scorched Earth Brewery for beers, live music (Shannon Marie is amazing), and pinball. By the time we arrived, Billy's Bricks on Wheels food truck had already left before their scheduled time. My boyfriend enjoyed two beers - Flipmode and Sloppy Kisser while I enjoyed Sweetie Pie, a Strawberry Rhubarb gose, which was light, sweet, tart, and sour. I also tasted Gose the Distance, which was light, subtle, fruity, tart, and sour. Before heading out, we checked out their five pinball machines. It cost $1 a play, which included 3 balls. If we return to Scorched Earth Brewery, I hope to try their Fruiternity: Mojito Gose (Can Only) and Slip n Slush: Cherry Limeade...
