I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Colombian restaurant with my wife, best friend, and father. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a wonderful evening.

We decided to try a variety of dishes, and I must say the sancocho was a standout. The Bogotá-style sancocho was absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and perfectly tender ingredients that warmed our hearts. It was truly a comforting and authentic experience.

We also sampled the bandeja paisa, and it was nothing short of excellent! Each component of the dish was cooked to perfection, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures that left us all raving about it long after our meal.

Absolutely blown away! Curuba in Allen, Texas is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Colombian cuisine. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, and the manager went out of their way to make us feel welcome—truly one of the friendliest and most attentive dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

But let’s talk about the food—because wow. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve had in years. The empanadas were perfectly crisp on the outside and bursting with flavor inside. The sweet plantains were melt-in-your-mouth delicious with just the right caramelization.

Our party of 4 had a delicious dinner at Curuba. We ordered the shrimp au gratin with rice and plaintains, arepas with brisket appetizer, hamburguesa, pork (I forgot the name, but it’s breaded like a schnitzel), and a sampler platter that had pork belly, bean soup, carne asada, arepa, sausage, rice and a fried egg. Everything was flavorful, prepared well, and the presentation was pleasing. Attentive and friendly service. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Be aware that it is a very small place, with only a few tables and not much space to wait.
