I went here for a work event and we were in the banquet room. The parking lot is small so I had to park on the street (which is free parking so that wasn't a huge issue). The banquet room has a separate entrance which wasn't labeled so I had to be re-directed after going in the front. It was very clean, nice staff, nice size room for the amount of people we had. Half of the room was set up tables for eating, the other half had a few tables for a "casino night" event, and the buffet was set up along the back wall. There was plenty of room for what we were doing. The bar was very small -- not many drink choices -- and there was only 1 bartender so the line was very long (i don't know if that was the restaurant's choice or the host for our event) The food was very okay. As far as italian food goes, i thought it was good but not great, nothing special. For dessert, there was only 1 tray of small, bite sized desserts and they ran out very quickly (there was plenty of food for dinner, but barely any for dessert - again, I don't know if this was the restaurant's doing or the host of our event).. overall I had a very okay experience. Nothing great or special, but also not bad by any means. I couldn't decide between 3 or 4 stars, but I felt 3 was more in line with...
Read moreWent tonight for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend. We had heard good things and were looking to replace a favorite spot that recently closed due to Covid. I ordered the crab cake special for 30 dollars. Halfway through my meal I found what looked to be a piece of patty paper or parchment paper in the crab cake. Not sure with what it was, I brought it to the waitresses attention. Stating that I was not looking for a hand out of anything, I was just unsure what it was. She brought my plate back to the kitchen and returned shortly saying her “boss” said it was just a piece of “shrimp shed”. I’ve worked in kitchens and am currently in the food service industry, I am fully aware what a piece of patty paper looks like. Especially when you rip it down the middle and see the fibers of paper. The waitress left me with the plate of food with the paper on it. It is not about how I was charged for the entire meal, I did in fact eat about half the crab cake and some clams. It’s about the lack of accountability and willingness to deceive customers. Seeing as they were unwilling to tell the truth, I’m glad I’m willing to not dispute the charge as a reminder to never...
Read moreWe went to La Piazza recently with my wife's family. They have a wide selection of Italian favorites. The food here is quite good and lots of selection to choose from. If you're on a diet there are definitely different seafood and salad options to consider. I had the grouper special when we were there and enjoyed it a great deal. They were very busy when we arrived and we had about a 35 minute wait prior to being seated. Be aware that they're parking is very limited at La Piazza, but you can park behind a neighboring church. There isn't a lot of additional seating, so if there is a wait be prepared to stand. Our server was rather busy when we were there and appeared to be a bit distracted with less attention to detail than I would like, but given the busyness of the restaurant at that time, it is at least somewhat understandable. If you're looking for a quiet dinner this may not be your place as it was rather noisy in the dining area. This may be better when it's not so crowded, but I couldn't tell you when that is. All in all, good food at a reasonable price; and acceptable service. I expect we will...
