Heavenly Havens Creamery used to be Swals and was purchased a year or so ago. We went for 10 years when it was Swals for the best ice-cream ever and a great atmosphere. Definitely not the same and so disappointing as Heavenlyl Havens. I've gone at least 6 times waiting for it to be similar to Swals but it just doesn't compare. The ice-cream clearly does not have the quality or flavor and appears to be more frozen etc (even my kids notice that). The prices are very fair but they have a $10 min on credit card so after you buy two servings and go to check out they try to sell you on toppings to get you to the $10 min - just seems kind of unethical..... Many of the flavors we loved - chocolate orange and chocolate raspberry - are never there and they have told me numerous times "I promise we will have it next time" and I keep going only to never get those... Went today and she told me those flavors are behind the counter but no place to put them out. So WHY didn't she get it for me from behind the counter etc if only one other person there the whole time we were there (and when we walked in no one was even behind the counter for quite some time). Some of the standard flavors of Swals like ' Scotch on the Rocks don't taste at all like they used to... Bad customer service and just ordinary ice-cream now . If you want just ordinary ice-cream at a fair price you are good to go here but I miss the 5 start Swals of the past! I'm done and I'll send the kids in but won't even bother going in...
Read moreMy husband and I ate at the cafe 2 doors down yesterday and their bathroom was out of order. The waitress told us to go 2 doors down to this ice cream shop to use their bathroom. We went there and asked the kid behind the counter nicely if we could use the bathroom because the cafe's bathroom was out of order and we were told to go here. He first had to ask permission from the manager in the back. He actually came back and had the audacity to tell us we were not allowed to use the bathroom if we were not a customer! We walked out.
But we were so irrate at this ridiculous treatment that we went back in and asked to speak to the manager. She came from the back and we explained we were told to go there from the cafe 2 doors down. But she refused to let us use the bathroom. Meanwhile there was not one customer in the store both times we were in and we didn't sneak in; we asked permission. We told her we were shocked that she would not let us use the bathroom...what kind of human decency is it to turn people away when they need a bathroom? She was nasty and said she has to pay for toilet paper and paper towels for each bathroom use! I have never heard this in my life! We told her we would never go back to her...
Read moreI'm not gonna write a review stating that their ice cream is bad. Their flavors are good, not the best but it's nothing for me to complain about. The only problem I have, and is the main reason as to why I'm giving this a two star review is because of the "Tenth Ice-Cream is On The House" card reward. If you have not been to this place, it's basically a card that you can get from the front register and everytime you buy an ice-cream from them, the cashier will punch holes into your card and once you reach that last punch you can get a free ice cream. Sounds nice right? Well it would be, if the card explained that the free ice cream is only applied towards small cups and cones. Nowhere on the card does it say state that "Only applies to small ice-cream size." You do get money taken off from your purchased medium and/or large, for example when I got my new total it was only a dollar, but the whole point of the card is to get a free ice-cream no matter how expensive it is. It's false advertisement, which I despise, and the cashier who rang me up had this sort of attitude...
