Come on in and sit where you like! Been happy customers for 13 years. We visit for breakfast 3 to 4 times weekly and dinner every few weeks. The food is amazing! I've never had a complaint or sent a meal back to the kitchen. They have generous, well presented, cooked and seasoned with consistent perfection portions, with excellent meal variety, and best quality extremely fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the economical breakfast special, which is served with 2 high quality thick cut smoky strips of meaty bacon, 2 juicy sausages, 2 super fresh eggs cooked just the way you want, and 2 large special recipe (can't find anywhere else) fluffy pancakes with real whipped butter and regular or sugar free syrup. They have terrific omelet choices, which are large and delicious with a variety of veggies and meats. Their huge crispy waffles are my brother-in-law and husband's favorite. Their french toast is nice, thick, and fluffy. The coffee's great and keeps coming by the carafe. My dinner and lunch favorite is a choice of 2 large moist and tender lightly floured, perfectly seasoned, and cooked chicken breasts or juicy thighs and drumstick. Comes with a basket of crusty, hot and steamy, tender inside, pull apart bread braids, served with Land-O-Lakes butter. I prefer eating my meals with fresh and bright steamed vegetables, or some of the best slaw ever, delicious and savory sauteed mushrooms with a perfect blend of onions, light garlic, and butter, or creamy yet fluffy, never bland, mashed potatoes (enjoy how they're made with the light flavor of butter and cream) and real gravy. They boast many side options. The salad is always crisp, fresh, and ice cold, with high quality choices of dressings, including Nebraska's own Dorothy Lynch. Sometimes I go for their thick never under or over cooked juicy high quality tasty beef burgers with crisp cold lettuce, thick sliced tomato, yummy pickle slices, real swiss or cheddar, or American cheese, fresh sliced onion, and buttery toasted never cheap buns. The fries are some of the best. Served hot as can be, crisp outside, and tender inside. Gotta have em with their excellent ranch dressing. Steaks and beef cut varieties are an excellent choice too. Always perfectly seasoned, thick and juicy, and never a bit of gristle or excessive fat. Sometimes can't resist their perfect brisket. Lightly smoky and tender with excellent sauce. The service is fast and extremely personal and friendly. The entire place is squeaky clean in every way, with modern pleasing decor and lighting, comfortable seating, and large screen TV's. Super place for larger groups of family and friends without a bunch of noise. The covered outdoor varanda with ample seating is a relaxing seasonal option. They make excellent large mixed drinks, using real juices. I highly recommend one of the best mojitos you'll ever taste or a homemade bloody Mary. They have a nice variety of good-n-cold beers, on tap or bottled, and wines. Iced Lipton tea is always fresh and sodas never flat. I can't say enough good things about this place! Come on in...
Read moreMy family and I stopped here on our trip to see family over the holidays, The outside looks like a friendly small town cafe, which we love to eat at those kind of places over going through a drive thru, but after stopping here, we wished we would have went through Mcdonalds. The reason we give this even 1 star, it was very clean, and loved the decor, the look was very nice, but a place like this, we expected to be seated (and greeted!!). When we walked in, we stood there for quite a few minutes before someone noticed our family of 6! Then they told us to seat ourselves...So we did, no biggie...Then we waited.....They kept looking at us, and nothing...we waited for 15 mins before we were even given menus...The menus were handed to us, then she walked away... no how are you all doing, no drink order nothing...after about 10 more mins she came to get our drink order, (just so you understand how this is a problem, they were far from being busy, there were 5 other tables in the whole restaurant being waited on, and two other waitresses that were serving those tables) so anyway, after we finally got our drink order, we ordered our food, and again waited about 30 mins for our food, which is not bad time. We ordered the chicken fried steaks for us adults and the chicken and french fries for the kids. The kids meals were good, they were made to look a little fancy placed on a bed of lettuce, the kids meals were a little pricey, but the chicken was at least good, for what it was... The chicken fried steak, was not the best we ever tasted! We ate it, but neither one of us would ever probably order it again, it was not really to our liking! But the food did come out looking really nice, just did not taste quite as good as it looked. We never did, get waited on, besides the food being taken out to us, our drinks being brought to us, there was no service, no how is you meal, no can i get you anything else, nothing like that, so there was no service....And THEN...Here is the big kicker... They charged an 18% gratuity, because we were a family of 6! 4 kids!! That is ridiculous!! There was no service, the food was not wonderful, and we had to seat ourselves and wait forever!! We even had to take our ticket to the counter, we could not pay for our ticket at the table, like most places that look like this place would do....even my 5 year old was saying "can we please never eat here again!"....I just don't see where they think they deserved that 18% gratuity...but I guess with that kind of service, that would be the only way to make their money! Because if it wasn't for that gratuity, they would not have received a penny extra from us! So WE would not recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to sit down and relax and enjoy a good meal after being on the road for hours!!! You are better off with a drive-thru, or...
Read moreIf you're ever passing through Alliance, and want to grab a bite to eat, stop here! Whatever you have as a main course, make sure you saved room for dessert. Their toffee cake is one of THE best desserts I've ever had.
A soft, slightly-dense cake with a player of a gooey toffee topping with a 1/8" cream frosting sandwiched in the middle; all of which is warmed slightly. Have it a la mode, and you get two small snips of vanilla ice cream next to it. The ships needed to be only slightly larger to have a bite of ice cream with each bite of cake.
The service was great! Not only with myself, but as I watched other tables being served, the time between orders being taken and served was superb. The guys in the kitchen rocked it. And the influx of customers for dinner on a Friday was constant.
Pricing is spot on. For what I ordered, I could have spent the same at a lower-quality place and left with hands doing with grease.
Don't pass this place up! You won't regret it.
Update (10/4/24) ... Had the Southwest Cobb salad for dinner (and of course the Toffee Cake for dessert). There were almost more toppings than lettuce on the salad. I was stuffed! I had a few bites of dessert before taking the rest home for a snack the next day. The only complaint, if you will (personal preference), is that the jalapeno bacon topping for the salad could have been cooked a little longer. It was...
