ThunderBaykery — Restaurant in Alpena

In our hometown of Alpena for the week of 4th of July. We hail all the way from our home in colorful Colorado. it's been about 7 years since we last visited Alpena. So much has change... yet... it is still mostly the same. One thing that changed was that there is a new mom and pop general store and bakery over on the corner of W. Washington Ave and N. Ripley Blvd. Across from the old Kadrich Carpet. We stopped in to check it out and discovered they had a great little bakery in there with fresh sweet rolls and other baked goods as well as locally sourced meats, fish, honey, maple syrup and lots of other stuff too. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. We wanted to buy the store out but there wasn't enough room in our Jeep. So we settled on sweet rolls and some meats. The sweet rolls were perfect with the morning coffee and the meats were perfect for our family cook-out. We'll see y'all next time...

First time in and absolutely loved it. 💝 My mom and I just stopped in on a whim and the guy working was very nice, the shop is cute, and he told us what everything was, the prices are so reasonable. $4 for the both of us to get a little treat. I got a triple chocolate muffin that is fluffy and moist 😍😋 the flavor profile is fantastic, not too sweet. My mom got the brownie with peanut butter frosting on top. The brownie was fudgy and perfection. Only note is that it would be much better with regular peanut butter on top rather than turning the peanut butter into frosting it became much too sweet with the added sugar to make it frosting. Still great just the peanut butter frosting is too rich. 👍🏻 10 out of 10 recommend this place. Will be back for that cheesecake 😍🥵 Almost forgot to mention the ADORABLE 🥰 crochet rose pens at the counter 🌹 love them!! Would love to see some rose hair...
