My family and I have been going to Carmelita's for years for their quality of barbacoa. I've raved about the barbacoa and even recommended people to go try it out. I would tell them the price is really worth the quality and taste of the product. We would race to get there in time because that's how popular it is that they would run out by 10 am on weekends. The barbacoa was all meat and little to no fat, which we didn't see much of because every other place that sells barbacoa is 25%meat and 75% fat or a variation of it with less than 50% meat. This past year the quality has been going down and the price has been going up exponentially, but I get the rise in prices we are all seeing the repercussions of the economy. The quality of it just doesn't fit the bill anymore. Perhaps it may be the change in the person preparing it or cooking it. Now the barbacoa comes with an excessive amount of fat and nerves, which doesn't seem worth the price of...
Read moreI noticed the complaints are mostly about customer service on these reviews. In my recent experience on 5/28, I can agree with complaints. Lady who attended me did not have a friendly disposition. Food & tortillas are good but not worth the attitude you have to put up with for questionable service. I experienced this in the late afternoon, don't know what her problem was but by the comments I've read, this seems to be a common negative attitude towards customers. No one should put up with this but the...
