friends 30A Burger Bar — Restaurant in Alys Beach

Nothing is perfect. But this place is close. The only negative is that it's a little pricey. But a rare place that's actually worth it. Perfectly seasoned smash burger, the tots are amazing (one order feeds 2 easily) and the sauces are house made. We are in the area on vacation and I plan to try the chicken options and a shake while we are here. I love finding these places to support instead of the crazy overpriced fast food options.

Edit: Tried the chicken tenders. Not a fan. I'm not a big fan of pickles so the pickle brine was not my thing. They were a little bit spicy too for a kids meal. The breading was also different. It was almost like the kind of breading that's on Chick-fil-A but it was very very dark like it almost looked burnt. Most people eat with their eyes first. So as soon as I saw the chicken I thought it was burned. I don't know if there's some sugar in the mixture or if they were actually overcooked but the chicken sandwich looked the same way. I would rethink the chicken at this location and just focus on burgers. I think something a little bit more normal would have been better and the chicken was kind of tough. This place was a pleasant surprise near my air bnb while on vacation here. This was my 1st time trying this place I was going to give 4 stars but then I thought there is nothing to improve! I drove here ordered to go and waited about 15 minutes for our food. The burger was fresh and delicious as well as the fries. Everything was fresh made to order. The restaurant was clean and spacious and the workers we encountered have great customer service. There is also a patio type small area where you can sit outside the restaurant. The chicken tenders and fries I got for my son were also good. Chicken tenders had a "sweet" taste to the bredding which was good, not too much. Everything was great and delicious I ate my burger so fast I forgot to take a picture. This place is worth the price, the double basic friend is what I had with their special sauce added on my burger along with other toppings, it was so good! Definitely would return. Keep up...

I thought the food was pretty good. The smash burgers are very thin…which I like. Fries were good - one order was enough for two people when we went. Milkshake was good.

The service was very mixed. The guy who took our order was nice and friendly. However, the young lady who called your name to pick up your food was not. I picked up my food at the counter and asked for some ketchup. She lectured me (at length) to request condiments when you place your order. I went back to get some 30a sauce (which is excellent) and she again lectured me (again, at length) about requesting condiments at the time of order. Seems like they should ask you if you want ketchup or 30a sauce when you place the order rather than placing the burden on the customer to know their process. Or at least be polite in the way you let the customer know of the process.
