In the heart of PCB, Sunny Side Grill on Front Beach is the undisputed breakfast hub for the locals. This place is a treasure that echoes with hearty laughter, the crackle of a busy grill, and the warm ambiance of a community gathering spot.
One important note: This establishment operates on a cash-only basis, a charming throwback that adds to its old-school charm, so be sure to bring some along.
Breakfast at Sunny Side Grill is a delicious testament to classic, hometown cooking. It's filling, affordable, and carries a special touch that only a local, loved-by-the-community eatery can offer. From the bacon to the biscuits and gravy, to the omelettes, every dish is prepared with a 'grandma cooking style' that will leave your tastebuds and your soul satisfied.
But Sunny Side Grill is more than just a breakfast spot - it's a bustling hub of community activity. The place brims with a conservative republican ethos and is adorned with political memorabilia. While this means it might not be everyone's cup of tea, if you're comfortable in such an environment, you'll appreciate the establishment's strong stance on life and politics.
Adding to its charm, Sunny Side Grill encourages diners to "sit next to your neighbor wherever you want and make some friends." It's this 'everyone is welcome' attitude that fosters a genuine neighborhood feeling and makes you feel right at home. Plus, the grill never stops cooking all morning!
In short, Sunny Side Grill is more than just a greasy spoon or a hole in the wall; it's a cornerstone of the local community, serving up scrumptious breakfast and a healthy dose of camaraderie. Truly...
Read moreThe health inspector must only come after 2pm. It's shockingly bad especially for an open kitchen. None of the cold prep items were held under temp; all fresh cut veg and cold sauces just left on a prep table throughout service. Serving those ingredients including pickles with bare hands; no gloves or utensils. I saw the cold prep cook drop seafood barehanded then handle a ready made side barehanded without any hand washing. Grill cook handles raw pork bare, seasons it with a shaker, works the spatula, open and closes refrigerators, handles raw beef and then washes up briefly. Everything that was touched after the pork is contaminated so the hand washing was useless. Surprisingly temped meat with a thermometer but then tossed it under the flat top, no sanitizer in sight. Empty raw meat packages kept on top of fresh meat. Stations filthy; no wipe downs between tickets. There's not a single place I've worked at where I could be this sloppy and have kept my job on that station.
A case of gloves and some common sense would go a long way but on that front apparently sometimes they do take out some times they don't. Cash only in 2024. These aren't signs of competent...
Read moreMy family has been giving Sunnyside our business for 48 years. The cook that I'm pretty sure is the part owner. We are from Kentucky and really used to enjoy their hospitality, especially when their Aunt & Uncle owned and ran it. Pam the waitress is the only reason we gave them a second chance this year. We picked up takeout the 2nd visit and I was disgusted. As we entered, the cook-owner yelled if the order wasn't called in we're closed. It was 1:30 & they close at 2:00. How rude and arrogant. Then he told a waitress not to answer the phone as it was ringing, They obviously called again and he yelled to the waitress answer the phone and tell them they are shit out of luck. Wow, he must think he sells golden eggs. I was so embarrassed because my sister with me was shocked. He needs to give the business to Pam, since he obviously doesn't give a crap. So sad that what used to be a welcoming downhome restaurant has gone to hell because of an unappreciated owner doesn't care about his...
