Ok first of all, as being an ex chef of 15 years turned trucker , this review should cover both fields in great detail . My fiance and I came here for dinner , it was our second choice off of i-40. When we got here we where greeted with a sign posted, listing all the things they where out of which was kind of disappointing to see, especially at a truck stop. Anyways we picked from what they had left for meat, brisket or sausage. Mind you this was at 7ish pm on a Thursday. The food looked good from what I can tell, but I could also tell it wasn't traditional Texas BBQ by any means. Brisket did have smoke flavor faintly and a smoke ring but can definitely tell it wasn't cooked on site but was smoked elsewhere ( it was reheated here.) Texture of the bark was a dead giveaway ,followed up by the meat being dry after cutting. They offered it sliced or chopped , DONT GET CHOPPED, ITS JUST TOO DRY. sliced is ok but it needs the sauce . Came with basic chain-restaurants store bought potato chips. The coleslaw was good , that was definitely made fresh. Now for the truckers that are planning to visit here on , is it worth the drive ? Eh it's ok, it's better then some of the meals you come across over the road and its a good change from burger and chicken places , but there is two problems I feel will occur. 1 is for sure depending on the time of day you roll through, the choices will be limited in the evening hours and probably most stuff will be out ( the close at 9pm) . The second is if your craving TEXAS BBQ this isn't the place , it's just an ok meal substitute. I wasn't able to try the other meats so I can't honestly say anything about the PORK, RIBS, SAUSAGE OR TURKEY. Hope that helps y'all, and keep on trucking.

Stopped in for some "Texas Style BBQ"... Extremely disappointed to receive sub par food at best. Bought two 3 meat, 2 side plates, an additional small side, an order of fried mushrooms and a turtle brownie, and spent over $60... Would we come back? Definitely not. -Brisket was well past overcooked and dry and had no seasoning unless the part that was seasoned was so burnt you couldn't taste if it had any. Had to drench it in their BBQ sauce just to get it down. -Ribs were decent and had meat, but they left the silver skin on which was rubbery and had to be thrown away. Again. Not seasoned enough. -Only had polish kielbasa sausage. Not what we wanted but they were out of everything else at 5pm.... but it was just simply basic sausage, nothing great about it. -Out of pulled pork during dinner time, so didn't even get to try that. -Okra and fried mushrooms were battered in yet again no seasoning, mushrooms would have been amazing with more seasoning as they were moist with a very crunchy outter batter. -Green chilli Mac was pretty decent. -Coleslaw was basic, wet, but didn't seem to have any flavor. -Potato Salad was delicious. -Chips were overcooked, dry, and too dark. -BBQ sauce was a basic sauce, nothing special but has a smokey flavor. Guess so when you dip all of the dry meats into it you get the smokey flavor that should have been in everything anyways.

Staying at the RV park next door & this was an easy walk over. This is not a typical Truck stop/gas station restaurant. It is a Restaurant with a truck stop attached šŸ˜€. You can see from the pics the amount of food was definitely worth the prices. Getting to watch the staff member make your plate was fun. He made sure your product was weighed to ensure you didn’t get short changed on amounts. I saw someone complaining about dry meat, well we didn’t see/experience that. Do they not know what BBQ sauce is? Wife’s turkey was tender, juicy, & had enough to add to her salad today. Her macaroni & cheese with green peppers was delicious. Little too warm for her, so I was the lucky one. My pulled pork sandwich was great & had enough to bring home for a next day sandwich. I enjoyed the special chips. Plenty of seating for families. THEY HAD TEXAS SWEET TEAāļøšŸ†āļø. Parking lot will accommodate any size motorhome of pull RV. The staff were friendly, quick, keeping seating area clean, great customer service. Look at the staff photo, that is a great team.. I was to give a shout out to Domonic, because he was quick with a smile & kind word. We will be back. There is a large dog park, kid’s playground, & covered picnic tables right outside.
