NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION. IVE BEEN TO HUNDREDS OF LOCATIONS OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS, AND THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST ONE IVE EVER BEEN TO.
1:30AM, i get to the drive though. There’s maybe 5 cars in line with me at the back and i wait about 30 minutes to get to the speaker to place my order. I get to the speaker, and absolutely zero acknowledgment for 15 minutes. I say hello right when i get there, and at around 12 minutes in is when i finally get my first response from the attendant. 3 minutes later i place my order, and at this point its me on deck with two cars behind me, and zero cars in front of me. I place my order and go to the second window. Paying for my stuff and getting my drink goes smoothly, and a few minutes later another worker comes up to talk to the driver through worker with my food in his hand. They talk for a good 3 minutes waving my food around before giving me my stuff, a little annoying but whatever. I don’t normally check my bags since Whata is typically very reliable with getting me my correct items.
I drive 30 minutes to my hotel, sit down, and notice my order is completely wrong. I give the store a call and politely ask for a refund since I’m not going to drive 30 minutes to the restaurant and back. The worker who answered was condescending and snarky, saying there’s nothing they can do unless i come back to the store and he didn’t know the corporate number. So basically i paid $18 for someone else’s order. Maybe if the employees spent less time messing around and talking with one another and looked inside the bags they filled, they would’ve noticed that my order that was LABELED ON THE RECEIPT ATTACHED TO THE BAG WAS WRONG.
Never come...
Read moreThis location was a complete disappointment compared to my many visits at other Whataburger locations. Everyone knows it takes some time to get your food as it is supposed to be getting made fresh. I visited this location because of proximity to my hotel (less than 5 min across I-27). I visited Store #758 (6120 Hollywood Drive, Amarillo, TX) on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 05:14PM
I ordered a Whatachick'n sandwich (meal), large Dr. Pepper (no ice), large fries, and a Whataburger Jr., and a hot apple pie. I asked for four (4) ketchups. The delay in the drive-through was longer than expected. The young lady at the window was polite (Elizabeth), she seemed a little stressed but had a smile!!!
Upon returning directly to my hotel room, I found everything to be COLD, not lukewarm, COLD! I had no napkins, and no ketchup. The buns for both sanwiches were hard as if microwaved, the chicken not crsipy, lettuce brown, and an overwhelming supply of mustard on the Whataburger Jr., like dripping off excessive! Even the apple pie was COLD.
This was day 5 of a six day busines trip, I had exams the next days, so I just ate the food and did not try to get matter corrected. And this is where I get frustrated as I SHOULD NOT have to worry about getting poor service, it is not that hard to get an order correct and deliver it hot.
I would recommend some remedial training in food preparation and delivery is in order. Store #758, you did not do a good job and let me down in my expectations of...
Read moreI am a loyal and true fan of Whataburger. My husband and I love it, but in Oklahoma where we live they don't serve the Green Chili Burgers like they do here, so while in Amarillo we decided to treat ourselves. I am heartbroken over this Whataburger experience. I ordered a burger with fresh sliced jalapeños, and they offered me pickled jalapeños instead. Pickled jalapeños. This is the only Whataburger that I have ever been to that doesn't have fresh sliced jalapeños. I made it though the pickled jalapeños trauma and we paid for our food and waited for it. Once I had my food, I went to the counter and asked for some Bar-B-Q dipping sauce (a question that I have asked at many other Whataburgers, and have always been promptly handed the sauce and asked if they can get me anything else) and I was told that it would cost me 38 cents for a dipping sauce. I just stood there for a moment with tears in my eyes, in disbelief and despair. I eventually found the strength to turn and go back to my seat.
This is the only truly terrible whataburger experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area, drive the rest of the way into Amarillo and go to another location. I don't necessarily know if the other Amarillo locations will be better, but it is worth a try to avoid any future tragic experiences...
