One of my favorite cafés ever! Roots Café's baristas are not only knowledgeable about their coffee drinks, but also about their food items. Unlike other coffee shops, Roots doesn't charge extra for non-dairy milk in your coffee, rather they have it right on the bar with the creamer and half and half. In addition to having great coffee, they have a variety of different pastries, including many vegan options, all of which are delicious. If you ever find yourself needing caffeine or a sweet treat while in Noho, I highly recommend Roots Café.

edit new school year. NO IMPROVEMENTS. I've had my best friend end up in the bathroom all night after eating here. I seriously question the sanitary conditions of this cafe. You can find 50 order slips on the floor by 5-6pm and tons of waffle fries and tater tots left over from the day all over tables and the floor. Don't get me started on the tables. Are kitchen staff incapable of wiping down tables throughout the day like the rest of campus dining??! DO NOT come here unless it's early morning for coffee. Place is nasty past noon.

Also I've seen multiple times the kitchen workers have personal drinks right abouve where they grill your food. They touch their faces with their gloves on then go back to grilling.

Old reveiw from last year below* This place is always DIRTY. Unless you come in first thing in the morning it's nasty. The kitchen staff never wipe the tables throughout the day in the middle of a pandemic on a college campus!!! They dont sweep the floors throughout the day either. It's only clean if you come in for coffee in the morning. There is used masks on the floor, numerous napkins and order slips. There is a whole bagel on the floor as I'm writing this. Sauces on tables and food bits everywhere! Do not come here later in the day. Shame because it's right next to...

Horrible. They always close the espresso/ice coffee super early every day and there a lot of students who would like caffeine to sustain them during the evening, especially during midterm and final season. Lattes literally take a minute to make, its not even hard labor so I don't understand why they close it early every single night. Can you guys at least make it known what time coffee closes if you don't have any baristas because the inconsistency is...
