WONDERLAND AT POINT NINE | Ep. 3 #localfortheholidays Stopped by @pointninetrailside holiday pop-up and had the best brunch on their heated patio. Such a cute little spot right off the Red Bud Trail! If you’re in the area, this place is a must visit this Christmas season. I was very excited to try out this place by the redbud trail where me and friends always go for runs. I think the concept is a great addition to the redbud trail, almost like a stop shop. The service was good, and the building itself is a great open design so I was excited for the food when I was sat down with my family. The brunch menu itself was very limited but I was not disappointed because I understand a simple menu is key to running great quality food. When I asked for the breakfast pizza I was informed that they were out of the dough and could not make that at the time. I tried the stack of pancakes, followed by the disappointment when informed that the pancake batter was not available either at the time. This made an already limited menu, even more limited. I settled on the chicken and waffles, with a side of the potatoes. Being one of the more expensive items, I expected a large meal that tasted great, instead I got 2 goofball size chicken wings. Not even 2 full waffles, just one waffle cut into 4 quarters placed atop one another to appear largerand. I could not believe that this plate had cost me $16 alone for the size of the portion. The food itself was above average, not bad but nothing special. The potatoes on the other hand, were the most disappointing part of my visit over all things. Unseasoned, deep fried, unevenly sliced. I could not decide if I was given potatoes or a sort of natural cut fry. While not burnt, the potatoes were nothing more than like biting into a soft piece of cardboard. I cannot believe this plate cost me $16 with the taste of a microwave waffle and chicken meal. I will not be coming back to this establishment again because I know that places like this do not change their prices or portion sizes, always trying to take as much money as they can get. I really wish that they would’ve put a better company here who cares more about quality over money.

My son has been begging to come here since it is near our home and we have watched it being built. Finally took him tonight and was not impressed with the food. Kids Slider: for $10 I expected more than a silver dollar sized patty on an oversized bun. Upside: fries were very yummy. Tour De France: this was so disappointing. For A5 wagyu I was expecting very tender slices of meat with a lot of marbling, unfortunately that was far from what I received. The meat was cold and hard around the edges, the cheese was congealed, the only thing slightly warm was the caramelized onions (which were yummy). It is advertised on a crispy baguette and I received a soft, hoagie roll. I think the flavor was ok, but hard to gauge with the issues. Upside: tots were yummy, a little salty, but the overall flavor was good. I didn’t plan to say anything, but the manager came and asked how everything was, my response was “ok” and she asked for the feedback. She was so kind, I provided the information and she took it to the cook. She was very apologetic though it was not her fault and was grateful for the information and kindness. Overall impression: the atmosphere is really cool. I love the ideas and the offerings seem really good, but it missed the mark for us this time. I will still plan to try breakfast/brunch, but the dinner we will probably wait to try again. The server was kind and helpful.

Been here twice now. First experience was ok. Was on a bike ride on the Red Bud trail and decided to try this place out. We came in through the court yard and sat down. There were no signs stating that we needed to check in and then we were told that we'd have to go wait to be seated. The manager lady who happened to be walking by ( very accommodating ) said, They're fine, let them sit there. We really appreciated her consideration! She definitely made a nice impact on our experience. So we ordered and I decided on the French roastbeef dip sandwich it was good. However it took about 20 minutes to get it and it wasn't too busy at the time. But I just chalked it up to it being a new restaurant with learning curves. I will say that as a cyclist I'm not seeing how this place caters to our community. Very little is offered here in regards to Supplies / Products I could use while out on the trail and the beer selection in particular is very poor! Mostly watered down mass produced American beers. No stouts or porters to speak of. 👎🏽 Now the second visit. Ok So as I said we chalked up the first visit to learning curves and decided to wait about a month to go back. We also decided to take some friends for their first experience there. Nothing much went well. We waited for 10 minutes for the server to make contact. Yet although we had to wait we did find our server to be very nice to deal with and we gave her compliments on her interaction with us. Now the food was slow to come out, again about 20 minutes. And the Pizza that I ordered had every attribute of a cheap frozen pizza. They could not customize it whatsoever such as adding onions to it. And I found that to be Quite Crazy! The two friends that we brought with us didn't have any better of an experience. They had mixed drinks and did not like them and sent them back. We wish we would not have taken them there.

In summary: Jill certainly has a lot of work to do to this restaurant if it's going to be around any longer than a year. If you're going to advertise that you are catering to the cycling community then you should know more about the community and the likes/dislikes of those peoples. Work on your Process and it's over all flow from start to end. So far with my two experiences it's not been smooth. Up your food quality and invest in your people especially your Bartenders. If you are using frozen pizzas I would definitely recommend looking into something better. Whether that's better pizzas or making them fresh from scratch. The prices are definitely high for what the customer is receiving. Last comments: This place is nice! It has a really nice atmosphere and the staff is to be commended for their courtesy. There's a lot of things going for this place but please consider some of the things that I've stated and look at ways to improve them and for crying out loud get some good beer in there! We like good strong Beer and Coffee options not Wine so much. Jill must like wine.... I hope this place is able to evolve / improve and stick around for a little while. I really do think it's a nice concept idea but it needs to be more than just a concept It needs to...

I’m giving a detailed review not to just complain but to help. Our party understood they are working out the kinks. This is why I gave it a 4 overall. Overall we had tasty food and many friendly staff checked on us often.

Seating/atmosphere We were seated in the back as we needed a low top and booths in main room were not accessible for our mother. Table was closely nestled next to servers silverware prep table where two servers ate during our stay. The music at our table was very loud but were accommodated and were able to talk later once we requested music to be turned down.

Food Cauliflower app, Italian sandwich, Mac n cheese & sangria were awesome. Chicken on Caesar wrap was not good- extremely smokey- an odd combination none of us have ever come across. Chocolate ice cream served as a birthday treat was unique & delicious. Singing and Polaroid was extra neat. Prices were a bit high for the portion size but we also understand the food is high quality & freshness as well as locally sourced which all increase price.

Menu No one at our table heard waitress mention the $6 side upcharge on the handhelds for anything other than chips. The online menu currently shows other sides being a 2 upcharge but when we went to pay our bills were so high we inquired. The three of us ordering handhelds received $6 upcharge for fries or Mac n cheese. Our waitress reminded us she’d specifically mentioned it as well as it being noted on the menu. Since the music had been loud upon arrival maybe she did mention it early on and none of us could hear her.

Checkout I had not seen that they were cashless as I was planning on paying in cash but was able to pay w/card so it wasn’t a problem although the checkout system could use an adjustment. Our server used a handheld to run our cards and announced our ticket to each of us w/o a paper ticket or able to see the ticket on the handheld. When asked she offered to print a ticket. Myself and those at my table were age 21-78 and none of us like not being asked if we wanted a paper ticket. We were made to feel like it was an extra to get a ticket by the waitress. This is when she reminded us she told us of the upcharge on the Handhelds/sandwiches we ordered.

Lastly, I wish we’d had more time to check out all the cool T-shirts, gifts, bakery and other food items in the mini grocery section at the entrance. I’ll be back...
