Tai Chang Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Andrews

The place is nothing much to look at, and there is only takeout since Covid, but the food is fairly decent and we've been going there for years. The one thing that always stands out to me is that they're very generous with portions. They always pack the containers to practically overflowing! I can't say that about a lot of the pickup places I've gone to, as many tend to be quite stingy, while continuing to raise their prices.

Also the guy who apparently owns the place is quite cordial and pleasant sounding. This, unlike another particular Chinese restaurant in Pawleys Island (hint, there's only one...), where the female owner is usually rude sounding, and not...

I've lived in some very large cities Washington DC, Charlotte North Carolina, Atlanta Georgia, Miami Florida, Fort Lauderdale Florida and for a short time in New York City. I've been in what was supposed to be some of the finest Chinese restaurants in these cities. Now that I'm in Andrews South Carolina you don't expect to find quality food here frankly. The food we ordered was absolutely fantastic!!! It was wonderfully fresh, prepared excellently and very high quality products used. The portions are huge and the prices are incredible based on the size of the portion served. A must-try when in Andrews...

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is (since) summer (2024) the broccoli has been very tough! Everything else is great! The young man that works the register (& cooks) is extremely polite and goes the distance to make everything right. The young lady is nice.
