Guadalajara Grill — Restaurant in Angleton

Normally this place is one of my favorite places to go to. Tonight though was very disappointing. We get there and it’s a full house.. good atmosphere and of course we didn’t have to wait to sit but the table was dirty and we had to wait till they came to wipe it down with bleach water .. ok no biggy they dried it off .. the young waitress came and took our order and didn’t know prices. She also didn’t know the difference between a crab cluster and a Lobster tail.. she didn’t even ask how we wanted it seasoned mild or hot or nothing. We ordered the $29.99 crawfish bowl and they never brought my side order of a $9.99 crab cluster .. I noticed the lobster she did bring in the bowl and I was like hmm we are probably gonna have to pay for that. That lobster sat at our table for 20 mins before I asked where my cluster was.. she tried to take the lobster tail from us and I had to stop her .. at this point what would be the point for you to take this tail? hopefully not to serve it to someone else??? Hopefully not to just throw it out??? Then she brings my cluster and it’s tiny and sad and I tell her that this doesn’t look like the clusters we normally get.. this looked like half a cluster. She just shrugged. So yeah of course when we check out we pay for $67 dollars and she’s is standing there waiting for her tip and I’m obligated to give it to her.. I tell the cashier the waitress brought us the wrong platter and we are having to pay $30 dollars more for a 3 inch lobster that we didn’t even ask for. He also shrugged. I ate that lobster tail tho and atleast the food was good.. that’s all. Train your staff in the customer service department and know that removing food off of people’s plates and platters is disgusting .. I had coughed all over that dang thing!! That was enough for me to never go back.. not anytime...

Sorry. Have to be brutally honest in this review to give every1 including the restaurant owner/staff a heads up. This used to be our local family fav for brkfst barbacoa (pricey by the pound), drive thru gorditas (w/a drive thru intercom that NEVER got fixed), fajita tacos 🌮 used to taste like actual fajita meat where we can see/taste the meat as fajita as opposed to now prepared all chopped up as if it were ground meat! There's a BIG price & taste difference between the two types of meat! We last visited on a Friday after 7p.m., a to go order we opted to order inside due to forever broken intercom. Ordered Steak ranchero, fajita quesadilla & tacos mixtos under $40 didn't get out of there until almost 9p.m.!!! Thin Hispanic, light complected young man Idk if he's restaurant manager/owner kept saying it's been a busy p.m., w/backed up kitchen was only excuse. No, "sorry the wait, let me gift you a complimentary water at least for your wait," they used to have this courtesy in the past. During our wait, I noticed approx 8 tables busy NOT full place capacity. Also noticed several employees in kitchen not looking busy. Gotta hand it to the wait staff & a young boy busing tables & serving drive thru who were hustling to get wrk done though. This restaurant has had it's nxt door competition & held it's own throughout the yrs. However, since the location used to be Jade Hunan decades ago, restaurant owner needs to step it up as it's nxt door competitor & remodel/improve service & some of the menu to continue being a competitive business us patrons can be proud to visit & reminisce our traditional Mexican heritage roots thru exceptional food this place has yet to get back to the quality it...

Went for lunch on Sat, there were only maybe 5 people there not busy at all. When we walked in the waitress was talking to a guy that was sitting down at the little bar area she just told us to sit anywhere we wanted, it took her about 5 min to bring us the menus because she was just talking to the guy and we would look at her and she just keep on talking to him. We'll she finally came took our drink order and then our meal order. A few min later, a couple walked in, and she sat them down and took their order. After about 25 min the couple that she had sat down she was bringing there food and she looked at put table and said to us and your food we looked at her like that's your job to know where our food is at. Had she not been talking to that guy who, by now, we know he works there because he went to the kitchen and got some food to eat while she was still there talking to him. Well she tells at the cook and says where is that tables food, she told him that ribeye he wanted it well done and don't forget the enchiladas. I looked at my husband and said they haven't even made our food yet it had already been 30 min so we got up and went up there and they tell us that they are doing a shift change so that's why our food hadn't been cooked but yet that other table that came in like 10 or so min after us got there food and we didn't. So we left.. the chips were nasty, the salsa was good, and my lemonade was good. Other than that, I don't know because we never got our food. I would not recommend this place at at. We went to the restaurant next door, and the waitress there told us she placed an order thru the drive thru 45 min later it still...
