We are so happy to have had Milk & Honey (Rachel) make our wedding cake. We knew we wanted to support a local business who also helps support not only the local community but those in need; so selecting Rachel was an easy choice. For our wedding cake, picking the flavors were so hard- because she has some many incredible options! We had a 4 tired cake with: lemon cake with lavender buttercream, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, and almond cake with mocha buttercream. The cakes are moist and full of flavor. And her buttercream- the best! It’s not too sweet and doesn’t leave that oily like sensation in your mouth that some buttercreams can, it’s the good stuff! She was great with communication and arranging for several samples of cakes and frostings for us to try. She was prompt with responding to emails in regards to helping us decide the design of our cake. She provided wonderful recommendations and suggestions throughout the process. We couldn’t believe how incredible our wedding cake turned out- and the pup portraits of our dogs was the sweetest touch on the cake. We had so many compliments from our guests not only on cake design but on flavor as well! We highly recommend Rachel for not only our wedding cake but all of her delicious baked goods.

My first Yelp Elite event was at Q Bakehouse, and it was such a fun experience! The Mr. brought me along, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Yelp events. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, with a friendly crowd moving swiftly through the store. The setup at Q Bakehouse makes it easy to browse and shop quickly. Unfortunately, I couldn’t taste the cake due to my food allergies, but I did purchase a few items. The standout for me was the apple soda—it tasted just like sparkling apple cider, and I'm already wishing I had bought more! 😂 The service was great, with cheerful and accommodating staff who made the experience even better. The coffee was surprisingly delightful, even for someone who usually doesn't drink it. With an orange juice rim, ube syrup, oat milk, and a sprinkle of cinnamon, it was a game-changer for me. I also loved that they carry some of the owner’s favorite childhood snacks—such a cool idea! I absolutely recommend visiting Q Bakehouse, even if you’re not a coffee drinker. I’ll definitely be back!

First of all I just need to say how unfair it is that this place opened right after I moved out of Ann Arbor lol. But thank god I still work in AA because it’s totally worth waking up early to stop here before work! Everything I’ve tried has been excellent – the chili crisp scone, breakfast galette, biscuits and gravy, mooncakes, and some kind of scallion cream cheese everything bagel seasoned bun. I’m also a fan of the cortado – they do actual latte art 🎉 If the owner actually reads this, the one suggestion I have would be to offer either a bigger bag for gluttons like me who order multiple pastries, or a box that you can fit several items in, just because it’s a tad bit awkward to juggle several bags of individual pastries. Lastly, I took my mom (who is a rather picky / non-adventurous eater) here and she also loved it and is now hooked. I think the biscuits and gravy kind of ruined all other B&G competitors for us lol.

Update 7/25: -Bacon cheese scallion bun is doughy and great. It has Parmesan and is a savory cousin to the cinnamon bun. -Melon bun/pan with honeydew custard filling is also good, and is quite big/could probably be a snack for 2 people. ---earlier reviews: The storefront is open again as of this morning 7/18! the breakfast galette is amazing while warm. And I still love their 5 spice cinnamon roll. Go early if you want something specific, because they will sell out. Past review/April 2024: I am impressed with how much their menu changes and rotates. They even offer a lunch special after 11 on Fridays and Saturdays. I was told it usually sells out by 12:30. The GF Vietnamese coffee tiramisu is delicious and creamy, and tastes strongly of vanilla. They have a 5 spice "sticky bun" instead of the cinnamon roll right now. And the everything bun (with scallion cream cheese) is back!

Space: 3/5: it can feel too narrow to me personally when waiting in line when it is busy. My best experiences have been when I have gone first thing when they open, or in the last hour before they close. If you go at the end of the day, selections will be limited, but everything is good:) Previous review/Opening weeks/Feb 2024: Omg -the 5 spice brown butter cinnamon roll! Star anise like flavors and brown butter and Asian pastry level sweetness level (low) make it divine! The everything bun is also yummy (scallion cream cheese filling- but as a gluttonous American, I want double the amount of filling- and for her to sell it in tubs.;)) I also enjoyed the square pineapple cake and the miso sesame cookie- both are so unique and flavorful. Compared to another west side Asian chain bakery (that shall not be named, and that I have so far not visited) this one is independent and local and woman (& engineer/food scientist) owned. The drip coffee and espresso are good, too (run by...

Attended the grand opening today and was really disappointed in their chai and pumpkin-spice macaroons. The chai macaroon was so incredibly hard that it was difficult to bite into and the pumpkin-spice one wasn't much softer because, they were so stale. Maybe, they anticipated having a lot of people this morning so they made them in large quantities, in advance but one can freeze macaroons and thaw them a day ahead of time and this won't effect the quality. The latte tasted great and the cardamom snickerdoodles were good but also bordering on the stale end of things. The 'brown butter sea salt chocolate chunk cookies' were overpowering in the quantity of chocolate they used. This really masked the brown butter flavor that should shine through. I also purchased a slice of their salted caramel apple cake for $7. The slice was incredibly tiny. I don't mind purchasing a $7 cake slice but expect it to be at least the size of a Zingerman's cake slice for that price and this was a quarter of that size. The French buttercream on the cake slice was delicious. They might consider using a simple glaze over the entire cake before applying the buttercream to act as a seal to preserve the cake from drying out overnight. The cake was dry. I didn't sample the scones or shortbread but, for almost $35, I left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. I actually walked a little down the street to La Bon Macaroon to buy their delicious macaroons and ease...
