Lifeguard Work Experience Review
My experience working as a lifeguard was one of the worst I've ever had. From the very beginning, I felt unsupported and targeted by the management team. I was constantly yelled at by my manager, often for absurd reasons like not blowing my whistle "correctly" or other nitpicky complaints. The hostility made me feel like they were determined to get me fired from day one.
Despite doing my best and trying to meet their unreasonable expectations, I felt singled out and bullied by both management and some of my coworkers. There was no real job support or guidance, and whenever I asked for feedback, it was never constructive—just more criticism. I was often left feeling frustrated, anxious, and questioning my own abilities.
What made the situation worse was how they handled my firing. They strung me along for weeks, declining my shift requests without explanation. Every time I asked if there was an issue, they deflected or gave vague answers. Only after weeks of uncertainty did they finally tell me I was fired. It felt like they were dragging out the process on purpose, making an already toxic environment even worse.
I wouldn’t recommend this workplace to anyone looking for a supportive and fair working environment. The lack of professionalism and basic respect from management...

Read moreVery nice rink. My children took several skating lessons here. It is definitely cheaper than the Cube and the quality of teaching is good for both adults and children. Good place to learn to skate for beginners to intermediate. Best thing I liked about this place was separate adult skating times for open skates. However, adult and kids lessons are also at different times which can be a little inconvenient to parents who are planning to spend same time on the rink. One thing I didn't like was I noticed some instructors were teaching private lessons for extra money during public skating times. They would occupy the center of the rink and yell at anyone (any age) who would skate too close to them or bump into them by mistake. I didn't like that management at Vets allowed such intrusion at public skating. I don't know if they still allow that. Other than that. it is fine place to skate with your...
