UPDATE:
I went back for dinner the other day. I ordered my husband food, and myself some food. I waited for a solid 20-30 minutes while watching everyone come in and get their food and leave consistently.
After everyone looking and side eyeing me while I was sitting there waiting; one girl finally came up to me and asked me what I was waiting for. I told her what I ordered, and it was immediately up.
Felt like I was definitely forgotten about, and my pupusas were wrong on top of it. The pork and cheese were just cheese and my one bean and cheese pupusa had no beans or cheese in it.
With all of that being said; I would still eat here again. However, I definitely will be ordering off the app in hopes that’s a better and much quicker experience.
OLD REVIEW:
I always go to the Crofton location but because I was in Annapolis, I decided to try this location as the Crofton one would be out of my way entirely.
The customer service was great, I didn’t have to stand awkwardly in a spot waiting, and she brought the food to me even though it was takeout.
The food was 10/10 like always
The pupusas are made right there as you’re waiting and are probably my husband and I’s favourite menu item. The 3 taco combo with rice and beans for $9.50? Great. Amazing.
The only thing that sucks is the parking situation, and how small the location is but it’s not a deal breaker...
Read moreI almost hesitate to write a review of this amazing neighborhood taquería, because I'd hate to let the secret out and cause it to be overrun with customers who are looking for a more Chevys or Baja Fresh-type experience.
This is authentic, yes...Mexican, but also Salvadoran, food. Particular standouts on the overall impressive menu are:
Tacos de lengua (tongue). If you're not brave enough to try them, you don't deserve to enjoy their deliciousness and fantastic texture.
Tacos de cecina de res (salted beef).
Barbacoa de chivo (stewed goat shank). Only available on Saturdays and wholly worth a special trip.
Tamales. The pork and chicken are both yummy. Only available on Wednesdays, and you'd better get there early.
Caldo de res (beef soup) and sopa de pollo (chicken soup). Both are made in house, are incredibly flavorful, and will fix the worst cold...
Read moreThis place is a pretty small hole-in-the-wall Mexican food place. I cannot comment on the authenticity of the food but I can talk about the quality. Both times I have been I've had the Tacos Dorados (taquitos) from their menu with no additions or subtractions. My friends have gotten the tacos and the burritos as well. The food is very good tasting and it's presented nicely with toppings in the box if you choose to use them. It's not too spicy unless you add the jalapenos that come in the box. The cost is good as well. I usually pay about $12 for a large amount of food and a Mexican Coke. You want a Mexican Coke.
The staff do not speak English all that well but they speak it well enough and are very patient with you while you're ordering. If you know how to order in Spanish that would be better but it's certainly not a...
