Paxton's Corner Coop — Restaurant in Annawan

A friend recommended we try the desserts here so we took a road trip to try it, and we were glad we did. The parking lot is kind of small but there is roadside parking. There was a ramp for handicap accessible access. There is a sign on the door requesting only 8 patrons inside at a time so there was a line on the porch but it moved quick. There are signs saying they would prefer you use cash but cards are accepted. The service was outstanding and everyone was very friendly and helpful. There were self-serve prepackaged cinnamon rolls and brownies available on the countershort after entering. They also have an array of unique ice creams and sundaes that they will happily put together for you. They have several different types of cookies and cupcakes you can order right near the register. Stopped here for something sweet on our roadtrip. We got the warm cookie sundae, strawberry and chocolate cupcakes, and regular cinnamon rolls. Everything was amazing and we will definitely stop here next time we pass through. I recommend heating your cinnamon rolls up in the microwave for 15-20 seconds before eating them- they will be 100% better! We actually will purchase some packaged items next time we drive through the area to visit family. They would make great gifts! Only four stars because of the obnoxious signs that they prefer cash. For travelers, it's safer to only carry cards nowadays, instead of cash, so we didn't have any cash on us. It made me feel a little weird paying with card when we got up to the window. I hope they have a big smile next time though when I pay with my card. Especially if we plan on buying $50+...

After hearing about this place repeatedly from family members, I had to give it a try. Glad I Did!

Tucked away just off the beaten path, was this gem of a place. As soon as I opened the door, the smell of goodness smacked me across the face harder than when I used to talk back to my momma! Everyone inside was very welcoming and friendly. Even though others were patiently waiting, the staff took the time to make sure everyone in my large group was taken care of with equal time and respect.

After buying damn-near one of everything in the store, I got to taste and little bit of everyone's items, instead of just one or two things. Each and every thing I tasted was Excellent!
