A friend of mine took me up here. The first thing we noticed - it is carry-out only - multiple tables inside, but you can't sit inside. So we had to order and eat in our car—no picnic tables or anywhere to eat outside. We both ordered the same thing. French Dip sandwich - added fries and a drink. The bread was decent and the sandwich had a good flavor. Not a ton of meat. It comes with au jus and that was good, but not outstanding. The fries were crispy but had absolutely no flavor. Maybe it could have used some salt. For the drink - you can choose a fountain or bottle. I chose a Sprite Lymondade, which I'd never seen before. All in all - total for two of us - exact same items was $35.32 with tax and tip. I should mention that you choose the size of sandwich you want...4", 8" or 12" - we both chose the 8" and that filled us up.

The pricing for the "lunch special" has gotten pretty ridiculous for what you get. $12 for an 8" Grinder, side & drink? Anything other than the plain chips are also now an additional cost on top of that? The Portage location charges $7.25 for the same thing and honestly, the quality is better there. I'll still come get lunch here occasionally, but the price has gotten to where I'll definitely have to visit less often. The last couple of times the quality has also gone down. The pickle I received with my grinder was very slimy translucent in spots. That's not usually a good sign that the food is fresh.

Is the guy who started these restaurants still alive? Samuel Mancino's? I have been to a few of these places lately, and the food is different. It's not as good. I actually worked at this Mancino's in 1997 and transferred to the Evansville Indiana Mancino's to help open that restaurant. It was next to the funny bone comedy club, which the Evansville Mancino's owned. Both are now out of business. The food was just better back then. So that's why I asked if Samuel Mancino's was still alive. His standards were just different.

I had a little Mancino's Pizza shop in my hometown when growing up, so I kinda knew what to expect. However, this location that I've gone to since I came to the Oshtemo/Kalamazoo area in late '80s is amazing! You want a sub from the menu? Custom items? Soft or crunchy? How about a pizza? Custom and light sauce? Just cheese? Special diet? Buffet dining? NOBODY has been as accommodating as my Mattawan Mancino's Italian Eatery! NOBODY. Picky husband? Finicky wife? Kids that seem to never want anything or they pick at it until it's cold? BRING THEM HERE!! Friends coming from out of town, and you can only make last-minute plans? Mancino's will take care of you! They're definitely not like the bland national chain, and still not like the pretentious little 4-table eatery. Mattawan Mancino's has become my ONLY choice for about 30 years. Sauce isn't too spicy like they're trying to impress you, toppings aren't sad and lonely like they were dished onto the pizza with rusty spoons. To be completely honest, their quality and flavor outweigh their prices - I feel that I MORE than get my money's worth, even if I order delivery - and come on, I know that's rare. If you haven't yet, just try them. And if you HAVE had Mancino's Pizza, then I'm sorry if I steer more people their way and our wait is 10 minutes longer!

But please know, I'm actually a nobody who simply likes quality pizza and subs. I'm not getting paid by them, nor am I an employee or family member. But when I was asked by Google to review them? Oh heck yeah, there's just nothing like them around, and luckily there are a few...

Don't bother. It would be a waste of money for an overpriced pizza that should be of top shelf quality for the extra money spent over other pizza shops. The quality isn't what it used to be. It appears that many recent customers have had the same experience. We ordered an X-Large pizza ($30) with pepperoni, sausage, X-Cheese, onions, peppers and banana peppers. It was all dough. Very sparse sauce, sparse cheese, sparse veggies, very sparse meat. It was nearing closing time and it seemed like all they put on that pizza was the leftovers before closing. Time was appropriate. I won't spend my money there again. I will use Papa Johns or Pizza Hut, (boy do I miss the Mattawan Kazoopy's) Our cashier, Chad ( I believe was his name) was exceptional, the young man with him, who may have been the manager was not the least bit friendly. This store needs a grown up that knows how to manage employees and product. We've been here many times, but the quality of food and employees just isn't there anymore. This review is specific to the Mattawan store. My recommendation would be to let all the staff go, close the store and hire a dedicated manager staff that helps support the reputation that Mancino's used to have, before they totally destroy the reputation that Mancino's deserves....

I wasn't feeling perky yesterday and I decided I wanted a sandwich/easy meal today. After reviewing the menu, I told my husband what I wanted and he placed an order for pickup. When he brought it home, we were both immediately unimpressed.

I ordered a club sandwich. It had what appeared to be bacon bits on it, not strips of bacon. The quality of ingredients seem subpar especially as compared to the description and / or pictures online.

He got the steak sandwich that he used to get frequently and he noticed a huge decrease in quality of ingredients. The flavor has also changed. I ordered a salad and it had white onion all over it. You don't put white onion on a salad and even the pictures show red. The chicken was just cold deli chicken vs grilled chicken. All in all in all, I think we will just take our service elsewhere.

In theory these are small issues, and I know that costs of everything are going up but we are willing to pay for quality and we did not...
