4th Street Fika — Restaurant in Appleton City

Wow! This is an awesome Swedish coffeeshop in Appleton Missouri! It is located a little over an hour's drive from Kansas City. The coffee is awesome and the home baked goods are fantastic. The crisp home made cracker (fröknäcke) with butter is a unique healthy snack item. The muffins, cinnamon rolls, and cookies have a rich flavor to them and are in true Swedish spirit in that they are not overly sweet. 4the Street Fika also serves rich chocolate coconut balls (choklad bollar) which reminds a swede of home. The ambience has a rustic culture to it and the decor reflects an eclectic American past. This is the best coffee shop in the area. The coffee itself doesn't have a burnt taste, and the flavors they use aren't watery tasting like some others around. The everything bagel breakfast sandwich was tasty, and the black sugar/caramel iced latte was spot on.
