Disappointing...and it was highly recommended to me so that made it even more disappointing. I am not into drinking so this isn't a review of their happy hour. I ordered the fried prawns, their number 4 specialty roll, a BBQ eel roll with tamago and I think a Philadelphia roll along with a miso soup. While the soup was good, and the Philadelphia roll average, the prawns were crispy enough but I didn't understand the sauce you were supposed to dip it in. It was like watery, bland, vaguely lemony or gingery broth with green onion floating in it giving it no extra taste. I didn't end up liking the eel but that is personal taste so my husband took that one. The specialty roll ended up being one of those oversized rolls that are wide with the nori on the outside, and it was also so bland and the fish had a strange texture. It didn't seem like anything in that roll was really done well including the rice, which might have been overdone or too starchy or something, it just wasn't good. They at least comped that one when we told them about it so...
Read moreThey used to serve the smoked salmon with sushi rice. Was absolutely my favorite. The unagi is killer. The rolls are very fresh and high quality, if you have high expectations then this is the best spot I have EVER been to. I love the smoke they infuse into the food. Good selection of beers and wine. I bought a whole bottle of wine, uh huh. Not a big fan of Katsu, you know its fried. The oyster shooter was awesome, very citrus forward and when I went it was a very creamy, almost nutty sauce. It was amazing. Gyoza is authentic, good quality. The Ling Cod was kind of a cool thing to eat, if you like cooked fish its not fishy or anything. The sushi and sashimi is the best I've had though. Way better than the other spots in town. No dried fish flavor or old avocado or greasy mushy tempura. Super cool bar areas....
