On a recommendation from a friend, I had been meaning to stop here for quite a while. It is a bit out of the way unless you live near Arcola, Fresno, Manvel or Pearland but it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
It looks very unassuming from the outside but I thought the atmosphere and vibe inside was artistic and unique. It looks like there is work going on both in the art of coffee making and painting.
I was in a bit of a rush at the time, preparing for a trip, so I didnāt have time to sit in there and drink my coffee. I ordered an iced Vanilla latte and it wasnāt bad. I also ordered a flat white that was really good.
I struck up a conversation with a local artist who gives art lessons there in the studio, while I waited for my drink. Her artwork was on display and overall it was a very interesting and distinctive space. I noticed that there was a staircase leading to a balcony where seating was available as well. There was not a lot of people there at the time but the space is large and there is a lot of unique decorations and designs to capture your imagination while you wait.
If youāre in the area or would like to enjoy a cup of coffee in an artistic ambience, check...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming here more and more recently. What makes this place great is the friendly staff, unique open feel and reasonable prices! The employees all wear masks and they always have hand sanitizer. Iāve noticed they wipe down the tables pretty regularly too. There are 2 reasons why I didnāt give this place 5 stars and thatās because 1 the coffee is inconsistent. I always order the same one and itās tasted different a couple of times. Sometimes they put too much of one thing or the other and one time it tasted burnt. My other reason would be because seating is already limited and half the tables upstairs donāt have easy access to an outlet. If they can some how use extension cables to reach those areas that would be amazing! A small thing I will note is be mindful of is the noise can be slightly louder than your average coffee shop. If they are running their industrial coffee bean machine located in the center or if itās raining(they have a metal roof) it can be louder than normal. I use noise canceling headphones so itās not really an issue to me but figured I needed to inform people.
Overall a solid place to get your coffee fix and to come do some work on your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSolidly OK for what it is and for the outer suburb location but it's not a real specialty/third wave place like the "coffee lab" name suggests. Everything, even an espresso, comes in an ugly disposable cup but you still pay inner city prices sans the sidecar. The espresso was a medium-dark roast, lacked sweetness, and honestly reminded me of charbucks. There are decorative burlap coffee bags strewn next to a show piece roaster and claims of rotating seasonal single origin coffee but it seems to be mostly pretentious pandering and minimal delivery. Service is a bit curt and comes with a rehearsed spiel if you ask about the coffee. It's a good place if you want to support local business and/or get watered down tea and flavored coffee drinks. The restrooms are nice and they have plenty of indoor and...
