Tucked away in the corner of a strip center, El Regio is the kind of place you’re glad you stumbled upon. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a classic Mexican restaurant—warm, inviting, and relaxed. It wasn’t too busy during our visit, which made for a peaceful dining experience. The service was excellent. The waitstaff were genuinely kind, attentive without hovering, and happy to answer any questions. Right from the start, the complimentary green and red sauces set the tone—both are bursting with flavor, the kind you just want to keep dipping chips into. For drinks, we went with their sweet tea, which just might be the sweetest tea in all of Texas, and a couple of beers—cheap, cold, and refreshing. For the main course, we tried the chicken fajita enchiladas and beef fajita enchiladas. Both were fantastic. The cheese was perfectly melted, and the sauce (or gravy, as some call it) hit that perfect Tex-Mex note—rich, savory, and comforting. The lettuce and tomatoes on the side were crisp and fresh, and the Mexican rice and beans were equally delicious, rounding out the plates beautifully. El Regio is the kind of spot that quietly delivers everything you want in a Tex-Mex meal—great flavors, great service, and a comfortable setting. If you’re nearby, it’s well worth a visit.

I came in this morning solo in search of a good breakfast. I read the reviews and wanted to bring and honest opinion. Immediately when I entered the restaurant I was greeted and sat down. The woman who was my waitress was very polite and attentive for the most part. I ordered the huevos rancheros. It had a good taste to it. In addition I did ask for chips and hot sauce. The chips were fresh and thin and crispy and the hot sauce was a good taste as well. The only con I would say is the hot sauce is very thin. I like a salsa that will sit on top of the food. The salsa here does not sit on the food. It's fresh but again it's thin. My waitress came to check on me one time. I didn't have any needs at that time but when it was time for me to pay I sat for about 12 to 15 minutes waiting on my ticket. I don't know where my waitress went so I had to ask another one. I give this place still a five stars. I will definitely come back. The food was good and for the most part great customer service. I'd like to try something different next time.

This was my first time coming here and I hate that it took me so long. I live right down the street! I was surprised by how big the restaurant is based on the front of it. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted which was cool. Our server was a very sweet young lady. Our appetizer, which had a few different items to sample, was so good. The flautas were crunchy and the beef fajita nachos were so flavorful. Our food came out quickly and was hot and so delicious! The charro beans really stood out to me. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back and try other items in the menu. I’d definitely recommend this place to others!

Let me just say, the food is ALWAYS good here so you won’t be disappointed. My reason for this review is the service. My family and I normally get our food to go but my husband and I decided to dine in for our anniversary which is Valentines Day! Well, I expected it to be very busy so patience was not a problem. The problem began when we sat there for a least 20 minutes before getting menus, chips and salsa etc., while other people would come in, sit down and a waitresses would literally run to give menus and take orders. A couple sat down at the table next to us, same thing, they were immediately served. When they got their food, we still hadn’t ordered. Someone finally decided to take our order and we also ordered a dish to go. After waiting what seemed to be a half hour, we got the to go order but the dine in food never came. We stopped a young man cleaning the tables and explained the situation about our food. My dish finally came but it was not hot and my husband still didn’t get his food. By this time, I felt what it was but didn’t want to believe it. We were the only people of color sitting in the restaurant. Waitresses would look our way and never asked if we needed anything. I got to speak with a young lady working the register and expressed our concerns, we felt discriminated against. She said it was not the case and she said that’s why I asked them where was your food. We had been there an hour if not more. I felt horrible and hurt because I’ve never experienced this. You might say “Why didn’t you leave” but as stated before it was really busy so I was trying to be patient. The only time they gave us attention is when I brought things to their attention. I know my dollars won’t make a difference if I don’t go back but at least they will see this and hopefully do better not just for the restaurant but...

The most awful food expierience I have EVER HAD EVER!!!! It took 25 mins to get 2 drinks, two teas.... Not only that it took an extra 10 mins for us to get chips and salsa... We didn't see our waitress until another 20 mins... When she finallycame back she took our order. After another 45 minutes of waiting our food came out, the carne guisada only had four small pieces of meat, one of them all fat..we asked about it and she said that's the way it is... And left, didn't offer any thing else didn't see if we needed refills.... When it came time for the check drop it took another 30 minutes, we asked for a manager 4 separate times and he never came.. We motioned and asked several other people for our waitress and a manager and again another 10-15 minutes goes by before we see anyone... In the end they took maybe 1/5 of the check off and said sorry but that's the way it is... Well sorry but this is the most despicable, awful, poor service i have ever experienced.... Whatever you do don't go here... Unless you want to wait 2...
