Me and my 2 children arrived and after we sat ourselves (the hostess said we are free to sit anyhwhere) the first thing we did was order, as we knew what we wanted already. When we sat, there were only a few parties that were seated and looked like they were eating. Like I mentioned, the first thing we did was order our food which was 2 orders of 6 bone in wings and a burger. Our server did not come to check on us and after 45 minutes of waiting we still hadn't got our food yet. Parties that were seated after us had gotten their food, so we made another server aware that we had been waiting for a while and that nobody checked in with us and at this point wanted to pay for our drinks and leave. She asked what we ordered, and then said our order was in the window and that she would bring it over. After several minutes of her being back there we seen people coming from the back with food for the tables that were sat after us, still never receiving our food. We did pay our tab for the drinks and leave but the service was unacceptable. No apology for the wait and never receiving our food. I don't want to bring in the race card but kind of hard not to given the circumstances. We were the only 3 out of 4 African American people in the establishment yet almost everyone that was sat after us received their food and we were even still around payikg for pull tabs after we paid our bill and never heard anything about the food. Will not be returning, hopefully they can work on customer service and treat all...

I purchased the Groupon deal for two comedy show tickets, two drinks, an appetizer or two side salads, and a pizza. I was a little nervous walking in that the comedy show wasn't going to be very good basing it off the dive bar atmosphere. I then learned not to judge a book by the cover because the show was quite funny! They had three different comedians and the show was close to two hours so you definitely get your money's worth! I agree with other reviews that the service wasn't very good. Our server was short with us and didn't keep up on the drinks. Besides our free drink she asked if we wanted another one right before the show started and then we sat with empty drinks for 30 minutes before she decided to come around the one and only time during a 2 hour show to ask if we wanted another one. We ordered one more, finished those and then right before the show was over she ran the bill over, dropped it on the table, and walked away without asking if we wanted anything else. I would think you'd have your best servers tending the comedy show. The pizza was good, about the size of your frozen pizza but with lots of toppings and cheese! Keep in mind there's about $5 tax you'll pay when you redeem the Groupon. Their drinks are expensive too. It was $6 for a 16oz Blue Moon and $7 for a 16oz Summit Saga so I'm kind of glad the server didn't come around more otherwise we would have had quite the bill. I would definitely recommend seeing the comedy show! It was...

Great little dive bar type establishment. Popular with the locals for a good reason!

Been driving by this place for years and the parking lot always seems to be jammed, no matter what time of day it is. Finally, on a Friday night, we decided it was high time to check this place right. The place was super busy due to their Friday fish fry but we were promplty seated, anyway. Service was excellent.

As for the food, we were not blown away, but were not disappointed either. Ordered the Turkey club and the Rueben with waffle fries & their homemade chicken wild rice soup.

Sandwiches were very good. The TC was at a weird temp where we didn't know if it was supposed to be served hot or cold, but tasted great nonetheless. The Rueben was not overwhelming with flavor but was good and came out piping hot.

What keeps them from 5 stars? Fries came out nearly cold - which was prompty corrected with an entirely new - and full - basket of steaming hot fries. The chicken wild rice soup ALSO came out room temp at best which as it turns out, was a result of whatever the soup was being heated in/on having been turned off. I'm not sure how this happens, but from a food satefy standpoint, here's hoping this was a one-off "oops" where someone bumped it.

All in all, a good place and understandable why it's...

Have driven past this quaint little tavern many times over the years. Finally had the chance to stop in for lunch recently. Very helpful and attentive waitress (Debbie). We opted for the Cuban and Reuben in spite of a delicious looking chicken and pizza buffet. We're rewarded with two excellent versions of our favorite sandwiches. Both had extremely generous portions of meat. My Cuban had deeply smokey homemade pulled pork with some nicely seared lean ham. Little heavy on the mustard and the bottom bread was ungrilled. Coleslaw was nice and creamy too. Nice sized chunks of Corned Beef in the Reuben with a reaaaaaally tasty dressing that was better than the standard 1000 Island (homemade?). Great breakfast on the weekends. Very crispy hash browns and perfect poached eggs. Hollandaise could use a bit more lemon. Still went very well with the dishes we ordered. Very generous serving of Italian sausage in the Cajun Breakfast. Walleye Sandwich had a nice sized fillet and was very crisp. However, the unseasoned coating was too thick and pieces kept falling off. Bread was also a little dry. Angry Italian was delicious with a red pepper aioli that boosted the flavor.

How this place has a 4 star average rating is beyond me. $76 for 3 subpar burgers fries & pops. Would give it a 1 because the value of the food you get is so poor, but the service was good, so it gets 2 stars. The burgers are literally 1/4 pound or less, overcooked (asked for medium), and didn't come with half the toppings it said they'd come with. There was hardly any flavor other than salt in any of the 3 different burgers we had. The Burgers range from $12.99-15.99 with $2.25 additional to get fries. So you're at $15-$19 for burger and fries (before tax & tip). I eat and review restaurants all over the country and was extremely disappointed with the food here for the $. I'd rather stop at Burger King and get a more flavorful Burger/fries that's the same size, for half the price. The onion rings were good though.
