Decided to try this out as all the other restaurants in the area are really good. Reviews were good, so we stopped by.
My first mistake.
The young girl at the counter definitely gave off the impression we were bothering her. My husband decided immediately he did not want to eat there. I opted to get my food to go because I REALLY was craving sushi.
I ordered my sushi roll (loko roll) and a noodle bowl (garlic noodles with beef). When I gave the numbers next to the names the girl rolled her eyes, sighed, then turned around dramatically to look at the sign then said "anything else". The whole interaction was very rude and uncomfortable.
During our 30+ minute wait...the only sounds to be hear was the LOUD cackling of the counter girl's friend.
Then a 2nd employee came from the back and walked past us without saying a word to join in on the cackling/loud banter in the corner.
The counter girl then left from behind the counter to join in on this (3 girls in total). It became clear the counter girl's boyfriend was on the phone. Complete disregard for anyone else in the restaurant waiting on our food.
The girls finally left and the counter girl returned with her boyfriend still on a video call. We then see her giving the phone the middle finger and chatting with her phone. Making sure to prop it just right so she could keep talking to him. We were very thankful we did not bring our small children with us.
My food finally finished and the counter girl says "here's your food" and turns her back storming away before I can even say thank you. My husband even said "seriously".
The service was so poor my husband expressed concern if the food would be safe to eat. He said if they show that much disregard for service, do you really think they are showing dedication to the food? Noticing expiration dates? Washing hands? Cooking properly? Etc.
I opted to get a second meal at a different establishment just in case.
The sushi roll was surprisingly good and very fresh ingredients. Spicy tuna mix seemed a little fishy but that could be the seasoning.
The garlic noodle stir fry I was shocked to not see the meat mixed in but decided that was ok. I ate some noodles and they were dry but very tasty. I tried the first piece of meat. It was dry but flavorful. Same with the second piece. The third tasted completely rancid/moldy. Since it was covered in a thick brown sauce I couldn't see if it was just that piece or others. I lost my appetite at that point and opted to not eat anything further.
I would...
Read moreStopped in just as they were opening for lunch. I was greeted warmly I ordered 2 rolls for dine in and chicken yakisoba to go. I ordered a soda, to realize on a day at 112+ degrees there was no ice in the dispenser. While there are cold cans of soda available it was going to be too much hassle to exchange as two very large groups arrived. The Vegas roll arrived first. It was hot, and freshly prepared. The outer part of the batter was nice and crispy. The breading in general was way too thick and it felt like I was eating a chimichanga instead of a sushi roll. The rainbow roll arrived and it was presented well. The fish was bland, bordering on dry. The yakisoba was prepared to go and smelled good. Upon getting it home for my husband I felt the chicken was probably boiled or microwaved, but it definitely was not grilled chicken. The noodles, while yakisoba sometimes is served with slightly crisped noodles, these noodles were crunchy like they were never really cooked correctly. The veggies were grilled but mush. This is a cute little restaurant but the food is...
Read moreThe first sign should've been the customers walking back in with their takeout bag. I have gotten food here several times and have always been pleased with quality, quantity and overall value. Typically get the chicken teriyaki bowl but decided to step up to the chicken katsu bowl. The chicken is breaded and dry. Unfortunately I was unaware that you have to ask for sauce unlike when ordering the chicken teriyaki. So that was a bummer to pay more to be met with disappointing dry chicken. My lady friend got the garlic butter noodle shrimp. She will be switching back to chicken if there's a next time since the shrimp portion was light and dry as well. We called to inquire about the dishes and thats when I discovered the knowledge to ask for sauce and that it comes with 5 shrimp but only given four. Anyways, hope this helped make your mind up for where to go to dinner, it'll be awhile before they get my business again. EDIT: Spring rolls...
