Mi Tiara - A Delightful Gem in Catalina, Arizona
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mi Tiara in Catalina, and I must say, it has quickly become my new favorite restaurant. Under new ownership for the past 18 months, the improvements made have truly elevated the dining experience.
We visited on a Sunday night and were treated to live music by the incredibly talented Ted Ramirez, who entertained us with his original songs and mellow covers. The live music, which is available from Wednesday through Sunday with different singers each night, adds a charming touch to the ambiance.
The service at Mi Tiara is exceptional. The owner, Carolina, personally came over to ensure everything was satisfactory, and our server, Stephanie, was attentive and kind throughout the evening. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel warmly welcomed.
As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. We indulged in the Chile Relleno dinner and Larry’s Burrito special dinner, both of which were delicious and generously portioned. The Cadillac margarita we enjoyed was the perfect complement to our meals. To top off the evening, we shared a decadent fried ice cream for dessert, which was the perfect ending to our meal.
Mi Tiara has certainly won our hearts, and we can't wait to return for another delightful experience. If you're in Catalina, Arizona, this gem is...
Read more11$ pre-mixed LOW-grade margarita... what a JOKE. And highway robbery! (In response to owner: my guest was NOT given a choice in drink size, they were automatically given the 11$ "large" crappy pre-mixed margarita with mostly ice: without being given a choice of drink size, by the server. Another issue in itself! For your information... And great way to "upsell"...) Most basic Mexican food with the cheapest light-handed ingredients... Huge disappointment, especially after eating there a few times over the past 8yrs... Won't be returning. And to the prior snide, condecending reply comments by the owner to numerous other postings justifying their prices due to minimum wage hike increase... I call schanigans. And It also doesn't explain why your food and drinks have gone down hill so. (Isn't cheese supposed to be melted in a cheese enchilada? And actually have some cheese in it? And how expensive is shredded Mexican blend cheese anyways? Not very! And is it a good choice of cheese for a cheese enchilada? Definitely not. But it's the cheapest, especially when you don't add much... could be a Dilbert cartoon it was so bad, the whole meal, for us both) We would have had a better dinner at Chipotle or even Taco Bell and at least wouldn't have felt SO...
Read moreI was sad to say we were totally disappointed in our experience. It's been a while since we've been here, but use to be one of our favorite restaurants. Had our usual little bowl of chips and salsa dropped off. The salsa seemed different and when the waitress came by and asked if we would like more chips and salsa, I said sure, and then she said that'll be $2.50, but it's a little bit more chips. I declined and said we'll wait for our food. We ordered two chimichangas with enchilada sauce on it. And asked for guacamole and sour cream on the side to share. There was no beans, and no rice...we were were told that did not come with them. Guacamole was $4 and sour cream was a $1.50....it was literally a 1 inch dollop of each, not even enough to share. There was a couple of other charges on there that were for god knows what. We got the bill were just in shock that these two very skimpy chimichangas and tip the waitress 20% came to $60. And there was a man they're singing songs, so tipped him $5. It is unfortunate we will not be...
