First off, let me say that being the first to review, I'll try to be a little more detailed than I often am. Second, I went opening day to get a to-go order, so any issues I mention may likely be due to the normal first-day hiccups any and every business experiences. With that in mind, I would absolutely be interested in going again a little down the road, once all the normal operations are smoothed out, and will edit my review if needed to reflect that experience. One more note before jumping in, for those familiar with Arlington/SmokeyPoint, but unsure where this is, it is in the old building that has housed both O'Brien's Turkey House and more recently Patty's Eggnest. As they both experienced somewhat routine setbacks due to winter floods, I really hope this new establishment can weather (no pun intended) any unexpected curves from Mother Nature. Upon entering, it did take a few minutes for someone to come out to greet me, but it was right at the 3 o'clock bubble when lunch would traditionally end. Also, I believe staff was all together for a quick meetup, so no harm there. Again, being the first day, I would expect frequent conversation with kitchen and wait staff. I was planning to take-out anyway, so it gave me a moment to peruse the menu. The variety is very great. There are several basic curry options, several larger meat entrees, and a generous number of vegetarian dishes, a huge plus in this area. There are also multiple naan choices, as well as a few appetizers and sides. I have included a photo of the menu. Price-wise, it seemed fairly close to what I'm used to for Indian food in this area, and definitely not unreasonable (for example: my order of 3 entrees and a naan, plus the rice that comes with the entrees, was intended to feed 3-4 of us, and came to about $45). Definitely similar to what you might pay many other places for a similar amount of food. The staff was great. The lady who greeted me, took my order, and rang me up was very polite, personable and easy to talk with. I appreciated her kind attitude and smile. The food did take awhile to come out (roughly 30 minutes from when I ordered), but again, I hope this is just due to first day bumps. There's not a ton of space in the waiting area, but there were plenty of open tables to wait at. If it gets busy in the evening, the lack of waiting room could pose a problem. The only odd thing I have to point out was the music...heavy metal is not what I would expect at a family restaurant, and unfortunately there was a song playing by "Five Finger Death Punch" that features a significant amount of profanity, and the volume was high enough for me to make out all the words. If the owners read this, I would absolutely suggest a different music choice, one not likely to be a problem for kids especially. Now, to the food. Everything we tried was excellent. The favorite for sure was the Tandoori Lamb Boti. The meat was flavorful, with generous spice, and quite tender. The Chicken Tika Masala was also very good, and we especially liked the Mango Vegetable Curry. As far as curries go, they were definitely both in line with the taste I expect. I ordered 2-star for heat, which was perfect on the lamb, but maybe a little light on the curry. The rice accompaniment was surprisingly good too, not dry like I often experience. Finally, the Onion Cilantro Naan was also a good addition. Overall, we were all quite pleased with the food. The in-restaurant experience was not perfect, and there are definitely areas to improve on, but I believe and truly hope these are just the routine, grand opening rough patches that I went in expecting. I assume things will work out over time, and I think this business has great potential, and is very deserving of the support of the community. If you are going early on still, please just keep in mind how any job was for you on your first day, and be patient and gracious with any little bumps you encounter. I look forward to returning soon, and am excited for this new addition to fill a gap in the Arlington...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Taj Grill N Spice and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked through the door, the great service stood out. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, making us feel right at home. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance that allowed us to enjoy our meal while still receiving excellent service.
Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! Each dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was nothing short of impressive. I particularly enjoyed the chicken tikka masala, which was cooked to perfection. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and high-quality, elevating the entire dining experience.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and lively, adding to the overall enjoyment of our evening. The décor was tasteful, and the ambient music provided a pleasant backdrop without overwhelming conversations. However, the tranquility was temporarily disrupted when an altercation broke out at a neighboring table.
What truly impressed me was how the staff handled the situation. Our server remained calm and composed, addressing the issue with professionalism and grace. They swiftly intervened without escalating the situation, ensuring that the rest of us could continue our meals in peace. It was a testament to their training and dedication to customer satisfaction.
In summary, Taj Grill N Spice has everything one could want for a delightful dining experience: great service, delicious food, polite and attentive staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. The way they managed the altercation demonstrated their commitment to providing a positive experience for all guests. I will undoubtedly return and highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of a...
Read moreWorst Indian restaurant I’ve ever come across would never go again, nor recommend anyone going there all you’re paying is for onions and green peppers in your dishes. They stuck it up and the prices are too high, but the food quantity is too low and the hostess is very, very rude, and she hears all our conversation and just comes rudely and tells her decision which we never even asked her and walks away. She just walks away when we complain to her and she states that it’s not true, for as though we haven’t eaten any Indian dishes before and we don’t know how Indian food tastes being Indian myself. We paid a fortune. For onions and green peppers which was stuffed in our plate, quantity of food which they gave us was not up to the price. The food was reheated from frozen and we complain to her. She said no it’s not true you guys don’t know it’s never happened before and she walked away. Our order was not taken properly. She said we don’t have enough staff so sorry about that that’s all she could say. I would not go there again and spend my hard earned money. they may con you guys up in thinking this is what Indian dishes tastes like, but they are wrong. We made a big mistake of going there last night, but never again we’re gonna stop and eat in this restaurant ever again that hostess should learn manners into not prying into other peoples private conversation, so guys watch out for your money there are lots of good Indian restaurants out there where you can eat and where you can be respected so it’s up to you guys. Try Curries in Everette Safron Naan and Curry. Best Best Best...
