Once in a while we like to mix it up and order this pizza. It’s not often because there are definitely better pizzas out there.
We get delivery. They have pizza tracker that shows where the pizzas are in the process. Inevitably, the pizza will come out of the oven and spend 30 minutes or more on the warming rack in a box getting stale and mushy before they finally find a driver to send it.
The delivery estimate is almost never even close. Today it said 23 minutes and here we are 56 minutes later and it hasn’t left the store.
C’mon Dominos! Hire more drivers, improve your estimates, and stop cooking the pizzas 40 minutes before you have a driver available.
Update: we called the store and they said they only have one driver. Why would the delivery estimate be 23 minutes at 11:00AM on a Saturday when you only have one driver?
Update 2: we asked to convert the order to carry out since it had been 1:15. They agreed, but insisted we would have to pay again since they would have to cancel the delivery order. It came out to only a few dollars less, and worst of all the pizza quality was awful by the time we got it home. Why didn’t they offer to re-make the order when we called and converted to carry out? Lots of missed opportunities to make this right. They even complained to us that they had a driver not show up. I get it - things happen. Complaining to your customer about that isn’t how you make it right.
If this was the first time any of this kind of thing happened with this Dominos I could be much more forgiving, but this particular store seems to have real management issues. I think it’s going to be a long time before we patronize this business.
Update 3: We got the pizza home, and ate, and did a little math. Turns out the few bucks off they gave us at the store was nothing. The delivery total was $29.83 to which I added a tip of $5.97 for a total of $35.80. The revised order with a small tip was $27.77 when we picked up the pizza, a savings of only $2.06. I went on the app and used the same coupon I used when I ordered originally and the total was only $23.07 for carry out. This added...
Read moreI just went to pick up a medium pizza, garlic bites, and cinnamon bites. The total was nearly $30—and I purposely chose pickup to save money instead of paying delivery fees and tipping a driver. At first, the interaction was polite. I was greeted, got my order, and turned to leave. But as I walked out, I overheard one of the workers making rude comments about me not tipping at the checkout terminal.
That left a bad taste in my mouth before I even touched the food. Tipping culture has gotten completely out of control. If I’m sitting down in a restaurant, I absolutely tip. If my pizza is delivered, I absolutely tip the driver. I feel like I’m a pretty respectful tipper. But in this case—what exactly am I tipping for? I’m not dining in. You’re not serving me. I drove myself, picked up my own order, and walked to the counter. I did everything.
You’re literally just doing your basic job description—making pizza. You didn’t go above and beyond, you did the bare minimum, and yet you’re expecting a customer tip? Get over yourself. If you can’t even articulate what I’m tipping you for, but you’re going to act entitled and make rude comments because I didn’t tip—absolutely not, lol.
That’s not customer service, that’s entitlement. And honestly, it makes me less likely to tip in the future. If your job doesn’t pay you enough, that’s between you and your employer. Don’t guilt customers for simply expecting to pay for their food—especially when that food already costs $30 for a medium pizza and a...
Read moretheir pizza is fine but I just went in to grab my order and saw some of the most appalling management i’ve ever seen in a pizza shop. Lexi I believe her name is, was SO degrading to her employee (who looked no older than 18) simply because a customer gave an address that didn’t come up right in the GPS and this poor kid couldn’t find the right street. so he came back to ask his boss (Lexi) what to do and she just screamed at him “i’m not a delivery driver, I don’t know the area!!” and was treating him as if he is completely incompetent. She very angrily made another driver take the order instead. I was so disgusted by her behavior that I even said something to her AND to her employee. She embarrassed him in a public place and degraded him as he if was nothing. NO ONE deserves that treatment, except maybe Lexi.
News flash Lex: Treat your people well and they’ll work much harder. Continue to treat your people the way you do and you’ll be lucky to have anyone working there very soon.
It’s no wonder people don’t want to work these terrible jobs with the way they’re treated.
Shame on you, Lexi. You need to do better. I’ll definitely be going to the other...
