Big Jake's BBQ — Restaurant in Ashdown

We have rarely had a more delicious, satisfying meal served by a very sincere, friendly host named Chance. He made sure we were happy with everything, which we definitely were. We tried the chopped brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage and ribs with side orders of fried okra, Mac and cheese and baked beans. All wonderful! Then he gave us samples of the pinto beans (free and all you can eat with any order), and the BBQ chicken which, like the other meats, was tasty and moist. Put this place on your travel stops. The food here was delicious. The portions were a little small for the price of the meal. Like I said, the food is delicious so it's worth it. But if your a trucker coming thru and you decide to stop: DO NOT park in the empty building lot next door. We made the mistake of thinking it would be okay to park there and run next door to grab some food to go....some guy with a mechanic uniform came up to the truck and ran us off. He said big trucks were ruining that parking lot(?!?!?). I would hate to ruin an empty building's parking lot. But you can drive around the back of the BBQ place and park...

Ordered the number 6 BBQ fries asked for chopped mixed beef/pork for the meat without cheese. Was charged nearly $19 and said that wasn’t right basically was ignored. When the order was ready I told the manager the price wasn’t right and what I’d wanted. He said we don’t do that and I asked so how much meat comes with the plate. Was told 1/4 lb.
