Absolutely love this place! Gal’s Sports Bar is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in Ashland, PA. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s worth the stop.
The atmosphere is the perfect mix of laid-back and lively cold beer, classic checkered floors, and walls decked out with vintage signs and team flags that give it a true hometown vibe. What sets Gal’s apart is how welcoming and down-to-earth the staff are. You’re treated like a regular from the moment you walk in.
Tons of TVs for the game, and there’s always something fun going on from free pool, drink specials, jukebox, and even slot machines if you’re feeling lucky. The pool tables are some of the nicest around (Diamond tables!) and they’re kept in great shape. That’s rare.
The food? Way better than you’d expect from a small-town bar. I had the “Cluckin’ Crazy” chicken sandwich with fries and a cold Yuengling, a perfect combo. Their weekly food specials are always creative and worth trying. Bonus: they even promote their local chefs and bartenders and make everything feel fresh and made with care.
Free pool is a game-changer. It’s such a great value and honestly makes for an awesome casual night out with friends. Clean bathrooms, good music, plenty of seating, and a great vibe whether you’re there to watch sports, shoot a few racks, or just chill. Our bartender was on top of everything and made our visit so much fun. Make sure to ask for their beer bucket special.
Support local, support good people, and don’t miss this spot. Gal’s is the kind of place you wish was your regular hangout….if...
Read moreThis place is incredibly dirty and in need of repairs. Tile floors are cracked and junk is stored in the corners. There’s so much potential to turn this place around but it’s obvious the owners don’t care. The bartender, a heavy set woman with long brown hair, was rude to us and to others sitting at the bar. It took a long time for her to even acknowledge we were sitting there. It’s obvious that she was serving her regular customers first. She shouldn’t even be a bartender because she didn’t know how to make a few different drinks we asked for. She got really mad when I asked for a salted rim on my glass. Then she freaked out when I told her our food wasn’t good. The food was very low quality and cold. I overheard her telling another customer if he didn’t like the warm beer he could leave and not come back. Wow!! I’m pretty sure I heard someone say her...
