New China — Restaurant in Ashland

Ok, first the the good (which is mostly all there is): They have large portions and don't charge much, typically about $10 on average, depending on whether you get a drink or not. It is almost exclusively a carry-out place, though there is a decently large dining room (where mostly nobody eats). If you are looking for a charming atmosphere, move right along, nothing to see here. However if you live close and want to avoid driving to Columbia or Jefferson City where you will pay more for Chinese that's no better, then order up! The people are very nice and have owned the place for awhile. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because while the Lunch Special portions are large, they are distinctly lacking in meat; If you are a carnivore and enjoy a high meat to rice/veg/noodle ratio, then pony up for the regular menu. Also when the lunch menu says lo mein, what it really means is lo mein mixed with fried rice (not stated on menu. But really, it is quite good for what you pay, and one could certainly pay a lot more for Chinese that...

Prices online are soooooooo much cheaper and incorrect then what they are actually trying to charge customers! I called in a pick up order for 3 $8.99 meals and 2soups, and an order of grab ragoon the lady told me my total was $57.00! When I told her the prices didn't add up from the menu prices online (on their website And Facebook page) and that she was charging me a lot more she just kept rudely repeating "Don't understand." We have gone here several times for takeout. We were charged for our total which was almost $60 and they pulled it in two transactions claiming their machine was malfunctioning. However, they said only one transaction came out when I saw both on my online banking, making the total bill. We asked to refund and they were, weirdly, able to refund the total amount.
