My husband and I recently hosted our wedding at the Highlands Alehouse during the off-season. We visited the property shortly after our engagement, and it was exactly the vibe we were looking for. Kevin and his staff went above and beyond as soon as we decided the Alehouse was our venue. The service was impeccable, and we loved that Kevin was there for the entire reception to make sure all aspects were covered. We are thrilled with the way everything turned out. Our wedding guests had a fantastic time ... and we know a large part of that is in thanks to the Alehouse!
We had around 200 guests, and Kevin helped us come up with a plan to make sure everyone would fit comfortably. We set up a tent on the deck and also had people inside the bar. It was a great way to separate the dancing/music from the people who just wanted to have a drink and chat. He worked with my husband and my dad to make sure we had all of the alcohol choices we requested at the right price points, and he didn't try and push anything on us we didn't want. He was accommodating in set up and tear down times and helped us dispose of extra flowers, centerpieces, etc. we weren't able to transport home.
We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Alehouse the night before the wedding, and we have zero complaints. Kevin helped us pick out some salad and pizza options, which was perfect for the relaxed atmosphere we wanted. The food was SO good, and it was a great way for both sides of our family and friends to kick back and get to know each other before the wedding day. We couldn't be happier with our choice to host the rehearsal and wedding at...
Read moreWe were intensely craving for Pizza and found this to be close enough to our hotel. We had a little trouble parking and finding the exact place but eventually we did find it and it was nice to see how its right at the base of the mountains and lifts. Great view! They were about to close in 30 mins so we quickly placed our pizza order. The outside area was a very nice area to stroll and hang around, especially for kids but even in early July it was chilly in the evening. While we waited, for the pizza, my husband had a beer. The person taking our order was very nice and attentive and offered us extra plates and such. Well, after we took the pizza and all and went back to our hotel to eat it, we realized the GF one topping pizza we ordered, came with no topping! In fact we were charged for the extra topping but it was nothing but cheese and that disappointed my little one a lot. She was looking forward to her pep pizza Our speciality pizza was very good though and so was a make your own pizza that my son had ordered. Great crust, good cheese and sauce. If not for the missing topping, we would have...
Read moreWe stopped at the Higlands Alehouse on our way through Aspen. The location is at the base of a chair lift, and there were great views of the mountains. However, it was a very warm day, and we found the restaurant stuffy and uncomfortable. The bartender was very friendly, and overall service was top-notch. There were a dozen or so CO craft beers on tap. The food was good, although it was served on small, mini baking sheets and accompanied by paper plates. The homemade chips/salsa/guac was excellent ($13). The chicken panini ($22) was ok, sloppy with sauce, sun dried tomatoes, and spinach. Loved that we could sub out fries for our choice of salad ($2). Biggest gripe was that parking was $14 for just over an hour. There was also a "Staff Cost of Living" charge added to our bill. It's a 3% charge, and I'm OK with this, but just wanted to mention this so you're not surprised. Before tip, our bill was $58 for the chips, sandwich and two beers. About what I'd expect at a resort. I'm sure this place would be a must stop if It were ski season, right in the heart of the...
