I had heard that there was no good pizza in Astoria, but I tried Sahara Pizza recently and it was pretty good. I figured maybe people were wrong. I didn't like the sauce at Sahara, though, so I wanted to try another pizza place to see if it was better. We ordered Fultano's....

Terrible. Terrible in many different ways. First off, the service. There were at least 6 guys behind the counter when I walked in to pick up the pizza. No one greeted us. They were all chummy with each other but didn't even make eye contact with us. Finally a young guy came over to help us. He was probably 18 and apparently had no idea what customer service involved. No eye contact, rude, completely uninterested in us. Never smiled once in spite of me trying to be polite and interact with him. We left feeling uncomfortable and told one another that the pizza better be great, because otherwise we'd never go back.

Got home with the pizza. On the surface, it looked alright. Plenty of toppings, hence the one star. But taste and texture? Awful. The crust was the worst part. Would have been better off with frozen pizza. It had to have been pre-made. It was extremely dense along the bottom where it was crisped to the point of tasting burnt, but it wasn't burnt. Just like eating cardboard. Hard along the bottom and then nothing else to it. Overwhelmingly awful and pretty much the only thing we tasted in each bite.

The cheese was cheap and plastic-like. Didn't add anything to the pizza. Made it worse, if that is possible.

To top it all off, this cost me almost $40 for a small and a medium pizza and some sort of "shrimp garlic bread" - a loaf of Safeway hoagie bread cut in half and topped with cheese and bay shrimp. Also not good.

In summary - rude, uninterested service, terrible pizza. Sahara may not be perfect, but it is world's better than this sorry place. I have a feeling Fultano's is the reason why people say pizza...

As someone who grew up in the area and has fond memories of enjoying Fultano’s Pizza during my high school years as a fisherman, I was excited to return and relive the experience. After traveling over 1,200 miles from Holtville, California, to Astoria, I was eager to enjoy the same delicious flavors I had in Seaside.

We ordered a Western Large Garlic Chicken and a Half Cheese, Half Pepperoni Large Pizza, just like we had in Seaside. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find out that the Western pizza wasn’t on the menu, though the staff was able to customize one for us.

Additionally, we ordered a Large Pepperoni Pizza, requesting extra pepperoni only on one half, while keeping the other half regular. However, when we received the pizza, it was labeled as having extra pepperoni on the entire pizza, which was not what we had asked for.

We also ordered cheesy breadsticks, bringing our total to $82. For that price, we expected better attention to detail. We had specifically requested an extra crispy crust and square-cut slices for easy consumption (especially for kids with braces), but neither request was fulfilled. The pizzas were not crispy, and they were cut in standard slices rather than squares, making it harder for the kids to eat as intended.

On top of that, traveling in a 33-foot RV, we found that the parking lot was not suitable or RV-friendly, making it difficult to park and pick up our order.

While I appreciate the effort to accommodate the Western pizza request, the lack of attention to our specific requests, combined with the inconvenient parking situation, made for a frustrating experience. Having traveled such a long distance, I was hoping for a meal that matched the great memories I had from years ago. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of...

We were excited to try out this well reviewed shop. Arrived and talked through what the cashier recommended from the menu, and placed an order. We were told our order would be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. We sat infront of the ordering counter in plain view of the staff.

Another group came in after us and placed an order, than another after that. The woman working tried to hand us our order after about 25 minutes, but realized we were missing a whole entree. She apologized and said it would be another couple minutes for that entree. In the next 10 minutes of waiting, sitting in front of the counter, we watched as the groups that arrived after us received and left with their orders.

At this point we suspected that they must have forgotten to make the second entree. When we asked how much longer of a wait there would be, we were told that our entire order had been done for several minutes and no one had bothered to tell us. When my husband complained about how we were forgotten about while sitting directly infront of the staff the male worker with a hat and black glasses verry aggressively asked my husband, "Do you cry like this often!?"

We were left waiting, with our food getting cold and when we complained about the bad service we were insulted. When we got back to our hotel the food wasn't very good either. They left out any parmesan or pepper packets, the sauce for the spaghetti was bland, sour and very off putting. We wouldn't have ordered breadsticks if we had known the spaghetti came with some, and said breadsticks were also bland and doughy.

I strongly recommend avoiding this place as they very obviously don't value basic...

I live about 2 hours away but I try to stop at this Fultano's every few months when I'm in the area. It's a classic old school pizza joint with a terrific salad bar that offers an all you can eat option. The red sauce is a nice blend of sweet and tangy. Pizza crust is always subjective. Theirs is crunchy but in a good way. The ring around the pie is on the thin side, so it's not a chewy ring of dough. There are a wide variety of toppings. This is one of the few pizza places where I can create my favorite pie. They have an all you can eat lunch buffet and one on Monday night too, so bring your appetite. I go with the all you can eat salad and power through that while I wait for my to-go pizza order, which is normally done before I finish the salad. Fultano's is off the beaten path, on the other side of the hill from downtown Astoria and all the hotels, but it's worth the five extra minutes to get there.
