Pedro's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Atascadero

Food was ok. Problem was customer service. It was terrible. We waited 35 minutes for our food - table of four of us. When we did get our food, one of the orders was wrong - ended up with a number 9 instead of a number 19. Then we had to wait 20 minutes for the number 19 to arrive. By then, the rest of us were pretty done. When it was time to check out we had two separate checks. The couple we were with had a $3 coupon and we had a $5 coupon. The waitress told us we could only use one coupon per table and she had applied the lesser $3 coupon to the other couple’s check but gave us (the couple with the incorrect order) no credit for the coupon nor did she apply any comp for the mistake in the order. She identified herself as the manager, said it was a mistake, so we wouldn’t get any credit. Turned out it was her mistake - she’d written #9 for the order instead of 19 - we saw this on the bill. But, she must have heard #19 correctly because she did give us the salad that is included with the #19 dinner, but not included in a #9. What restaurant wouldn’t want to make this experience right? Very delicious food! The place is well set up, with nice decorations inside and the ambiance feels very warm and welcoming. The food was also very good, with huge portions and generous sides. We had an eating restriction and the server/kitchen were more than happy to accommodate. I had the homemade horchata and it was very tasty with sprinkled on cinnamon. The fish tacos were decent, but the shrimp enchiladas were very good and very filling. We ordered the cheese fries and they were nice enough to put some extra enchilada sauce on them, making them extra delicious! I also want to point out, they had a guest who didn't have enough cash (they aren't taking cards currently due to an internet issue) and the server genuinely offered the customer that she would pay for their meal as long as they come back and pay her back. That was a ridiculously nice gesture and I've never heard any one anywhere ever offer something like that before. The service was top notch and the food was fantastic. My wife and I went here for dinner with a friend and we slightly disappointed. My wife and I order one of there large combination plates to share with enchiladas and tacos with rice and beans. It had good flavors and we thoroughly happy with the taste of our food. Our friend ordered a burrito with chicken and she literally got chicken wrapped in a tortilla and that was it. We were surprised by that but hey maybe she should have been more specific. Our frustration came from the fact that we were a simple party of three and we saw many other groups of a larger size and even some couples come in after us and get their food before.
